I had an issue at one time trying to set up network mode. You might find this useful if you don't have it. FYI, people swear by USB but I always use network mode with no issues.

Some have said static electricity could transmit through the USB causing some issues. If that happens I think wrapping electrical tape around the cord solved most of the issue.
I think USB to computer is generally the "fastest" connection.
There seems to be no clear answer, as different people have better success with one over the others. In terms of delay, there is minimal difference, and surprisingly if network is strong, USB is slighly longer delay.
Overall, I'd say direct is the most reliable connection method. USB is great in theory, but the static issue may come up, especially in the drier months. Network ... great if it works. Since every location is different, you can only find out by trying.
If using direct connection and playing TGC2019, you need wired PC (recommended) or a second wifi adapter.
Just a suggestion, but the only way I can see static electricity being a problem is if you are charged and grab the port first without grounding out. Just touch some metal to discharge before you pull the USB plug at the end of a session and you should be fine.

No, as static builds up over a session the indicator lights will start to flicker and the skytrak will stop reading shots. This is well documented with hundreds of anecdotes.
