  • Revisiting laser curtain issues

I searched the data base for laser curtain issues. It seems as though there was a flurry several years ago but nothing recently. I am getting more misreads lately, especially as the practice session goes on. Eventually the unit just locks and won't read anything. Hitting the reset button usually cures it, but that is a pain as I have to remove the protective case. A number a old posts talked about switching the right and left lasers. Has anyone tried this recently? How do you open the case? Prices for time and cost to have ST fix it ranged from free to $350 and weeks to months in time. Does anyone have any recently experiences? Thank you

You need to confirm laser curtain burnout. Hit from the left side to confirm. I have yet to hear of a failure from somebody swapping left and right. But if you live in the U.S, I hear it is typically $100 to $200. Not the end of the world.

I opened my case and swapped the laser curtains for Left and Right to finish out our winter golf league. The RH curtain died about 3/4 of the way through the season. I opened it up and swapped them mid round for one of my guys. It worked like brand new.... however I would caution anyone in opening it up if you dont have much tech knowledge. Whatever you do dont force it if you cant get it open, its only a plastic casing. After the season I contacted skytrak and told them about the laser curtain issue. Sent it in and cost me just over $100. They sent it back within a month. The entire process was pretty painless.
