Hi Seth. I'm new to this forum but have been reading as much as I can about SkyTrak on this and other forums. It seems that many experienced sim users think that The Golf Club game is the best simulator software out there right now. In fact, if I'm understanding and remembering things correctly, Bubba22 and Zmax were instrumental (please correct me if I'm wrong) in getting ProTee to integrate their sim hardware (and gc2) with The Golf Club software. So my question to you/SkyTrak is simply this: Has there been any thought to integrating SkyTrak with The Golf Club? And if so, what are the odds that this might happen? And if so, when?

Pinch me!!!!!! I must be dreaming!!!!!!
Since I'm as far removed from the tech field as you can get, any idea what "could" be the time frame to test a storefront? As an outsider it seems that it would be relatively simple, since it's been done millions of times before and they are not trying to reinvent the wheel.

Does anyone have any insight into whether I will need to connect USB directly from PC to Skytrak for TGC sim? Essentially I'd like to use my home office computer and just run HDMI to my projector in the garage. If the Skytrak can connect to the PC over wi-fi and get rapid shot processing, that would be ideal. Alternatively I could run USB over Cat6e to the garage.
Would anyone know if wi-fi or cat6 would cause extreme delay in shot processing vs. a single short/direct USB connection?

Yes shouldn't be that hard unless they're planning another subscription package strictly for sim or strictly for TGC - hence maybe why they've removed the wording "access to sim play" in GIP package?Originally posted by DougieMn View PostSince I'm as far removed from the tech field as you can get, any idea what "could" be the time frame to test a storefront? I did the TGC search for the UK and got this.. ST-TGC-O - The Golf Club Game - Full Version One Time Purchase
Price: £1,194.00 (GBP)
Ridiculous...rip off UK as usual..... exchange rate $995 = £697 (@1.43)
So why is it £497 ($709) more for UK shoppers.
I presume if I bought it "1st / 2nd hand" from a US supplier the price would $995....surely my location where I am playing the simulator should not matter for the servers! It is nothing physical to be shipped, just a licence key and a download I presume....we buy software all the time from different parts of the world with correct exchange rates.

You need to provide an address to purchase (it asked for one in the test cart on skygolf), and if you try doing it in the US shop $995 and select United Kingdom, it switches it to United Kingdom and the UK price.
Also, what are they shipping? I played with the cart in EUROPE mode and it said shipping by UPS was 19.95...thought it was digital download only.

Where are you seeing the availability? Is it on a skytrak website for UK only?

I purchased and printed receipt, still fuzzy on how to download it. Rep said I need to download via SkyTrak program so will need to go to mancave to give it a try. I'll keep you posted.

Not to get hopes up too high but assuming it does become available today...what course will be the first one you try?
If you want to do Augusta my recommendation is to try Magnolia National 2016 (ks man corner). It is a three hole course of Amen corner. I'm keeping quiet on my royalty for each play...
I also played Pinehurst 2016 last night and shot a 79. It was another awesome recreation.

I'm sure 90% of the people will go with Augusta. After people get done with that I'd also recommend Balor's Forest, especially for the higher handicap golfers. It is a fictional course done for the simulator and an easier experience. There are some fantastic courses out there but so many of them were designed for the video game where people shoot 56-60 in their sleep and then simply get shortened for simulator play. Even a lot of the recreation courses are incredibly hard. Don't get me wrong, they are all fun but for the golfer who typically shoots between 85-100 they can be quite a challenge since you often can't come up short and roll it to the green the way many of us do at the local public courses.
I will say that once you get the feel for distances the short game is a lot easier since you are never in the rough which really helps the score. Along with the 6 foot gimmes. When you know you only have to chip in to a 6 foot circle and always have a perfect lie you can save a lot of strokes. One other benefit is that my caddie has always been able to find my balls thus far. Regardless of how wayward my drives have been...
that connects with a cat6. It runs nearly 40-50ft and I don't notice any delays more than what I expect from SkyTrak naturally.
