Pinch me!!!!!! I must be dreaming!!!!!!

Since I'm as far removed from the tech field as you can get, any idea what "could" be the time frame to test a storefront? As an outsider it seems that it would be relatively simple, since it's been done millions of times before and they are not trying to reinvent the wheel.

Agreed... Not to mention you'd think they'd have been a little more prepared for this. It shouldn't have been a surprise..Could have had this sitting in test environment waiting to go to production weeks ago.

Does anyone have any insight into whether I will need to connect USB directly from PC to Skytrak for TGC sim? Essentially I'd like to use my home office computer and just run HDMI to my projector in the garage. If the Skytrak can connect to the PC over wi-fi and get rapid shot processing, that would be ideal. Alternatively I could run USB over Cat6e to the garage.

Would anyone know if wi-fi or cat6 would cause extreme delay in shot processing vs. a single short/direct USB connection?

I run a USB Extender (made by "LinKDepot&quot that connects with a cat6. It runs nearly 40-50ft and I don't notice any delays more than what I expect from SkyTrak naturally.

Yes shouldn't be that hard unless they're planning another subscription package strictly for sim or strictly for TGC - hence maybe why they've removed the wording "access to sim play" in GIP package?

Wonder if the TGC pricing for Canadians will be reasonable considering the exchange. Also wondering how they will coordinate the discount for us GSF members if it's through Skytrak.

Hi guys, does the sim version of TGC come via steam? I'm hoping to use Steam streaming so I can use my old laptop to connect to the projector in the garage whilst running TGC from my PC in the office...

          Hi,

If you search “The Golf Club” in the SkyGolf shop, you can add TGC into the shoppingcart.

The annual price is a little steep, especially if we have to pay the $99 on top of that

Very steep! Makes no sense vs outright at $995 w $100 rebate as GSF member.

I did the TGC search for the UK and got this.. ST-TGC-O - The Golf Club Game - Full Version One Time Purchase

            Price: £1,194.00 (GBP)

            Ridiculous...rip off UK as usual..... exchange rate $995 = £697 (@1.43)
So why is it £497 ($709) more for UK shoppers.

I presume if I bought it "1st / 2nd hand" from a US supplier the price would $995....surely my location where I am playing the simulator should not matter for the servers! It is nothing physical to be shipped, just a licence key and a download I presume....we buy software all the time from different parts of the world with correct exchange rates.

Anyway, lets just hope (UK guys) it was test data, the cart system is offline now, I was expecting £790 based on the GIP package being £79 compared to the US price being $99.95

Can you not download in USA and then use in UK?

What happens if you buy lifetime software and then move to a different country?

You need to provide an address to purchase (it asked for one in the test cart on skygolf), and if you try doing it in the US shop $995 and select United Kingdom, it switches it to United Kingdom and the UK price.
Also, what are they shipping? I played with the cart in EUROPE mode and it said shipping by UPS was 19.95...thought it was digital download only.

Where are you seeing the availability? Is it on a skytrak website for UK only?

Thanks, had no idea you could switch it like that and that it's listed in the store when you search. So for US is 995, wonder how far i can go for the order?

I purchased and printed receipt, still fuzzy on how to download it. Rep said I need to download via SkyTrak program so will need to go to mancave to give it a try. I'll keep you posted.

If you have your access code, send ProTee a private message in this forum. 6 months ago, they sent me the download link within 20 minutes of my request.

OK, got all the way to place order button on paypal. So i decided to chat with a rep, and I asked if TGC is now available for skytrak, see response below.

Paul Armstrong: Hello! Thank you for chatting. Please hold one moment while I review your pre-chat survey.
Paul Armstrong: Sorry William, It is not available yet. Once it is available you will be notified.
me: Really. When i search in the store, it's lsited with a price and i get all the way through paypal and have the place order button.
Paul Armstrong: Please give me a moment,
me: No problem. In the search box, type tgc. It comes up with two options, one time buy and subcription.
Paul Armstrong: William, I am very sorry. It seems it was updated recently. You can order the one.
me: OK, currently i have just the basic (free) plan, do i need something else to run TGC?
Paul Armstrong: William , Also please contact our next level support before placing the order. You can reach our phone support at: 1-866-940-4279 between 8am - 5pm Central Mon-Fri. They will provide the required info regarding TGC and guide you with that.
me: OK, will call them when they open.
info: Your chat transcript will be sent to wfbjr23@yahoo.com at the end of your chat.
Paul Armstrong: Okay William, thank you for chatting with us. Have a good day.

Not to get hopes up too high but assuming it does become available today...what course will be the first one you try?

If you want to do Augusta my recommendation is to try Magnolia National 2016 (ks man corner). It is a three hole course of Amen corner. I'm keeping quiet on my royalty for each play...

I also played Pinehurst 2016 last night and shot a 79. It was another awesome recreation.

I'm sure 90% of the people will go with Augusta. After people get done with that I'd also recommend Balor's Forest, especially for the higher handicap golfers. It is a fictional course done for the simulator and an easier experience. There are some fantastic courses out there but so many of them were designed for the video game where people shoot 56-60 in their sleep and then simply get shortened for simulator play. Even a lot of the recreation courses are incredibly hard. Don't get me wrong, they are all fun but for the golfer who typically shoots between 85-100 they can be quite a challenge since you often can't come up short and roll it to the green the way many of us do at the local public courses.

I will say that once you get the feel for distances the short game is a lot easier since you are never in the rough which really helps the score. Along with the 6 foot gimmes. When you know you only have to chip in to a 6 foot circle and always have a perfect lie you can save a lot of strokes. One other benefit is that my caddie has always been able to find my balls thus far. Regardless of how wayward my drives have been...
            Working...
