  • SkyTrak and The Golf Club (TGC) Simulation Software

Hi Seth. I'm new to this forum but have been reading as much as I can about SkyTrak on this and other forums. It seems that many experienced sim users think that The Golf Club game is the best simulator software out there right now. In fact, if I'm understanding and remembering things correctly, Bubba22 and Zmax were instrumental (please correct me if I'm wrong) in getting ProTee to integrate their sim hardware (and gc2) with The Golf Club software. So my question to you/SkyTrak is simply this: Has there been any thought to integrating SkyTrak with The Golf Club? And if so, what are the odds that this might happen? And if so, when?

  • Dying for pricing and availability... I should be done with my sim setup in the garage by the end of this weekend...

    • "We do not recommend anything in the GT series. You need a GTX and at least a 660 to get acceptable performance. A GTX660 is twice as fast as a GT650. Also mobile editions (GT650m) are slower than Desktop versions (GT650)".

      • Correct. Also if you have a choice, buy Nvidia cards for gaming.

Here is a great site to compare graphic cards: http://hwcompare.com

So when do you think we should have our sim with gaming PC ready by ? ;-)

We have no idea. You will need to ask SkyTrak.

I figured I give it a try lol

      • Thanks for your earlier reply ProTee. I'm very much encouraged by that response. ⛳️

Can you say anything on the possibility of trying before we buy in terms of either a demo or even a pay as you go monthly subscription?

Also, would you be happy to explain why you are promoting NVIDIA products over ATI/AMD? Presumably the ST version of the TGC software has been optimised to be more efficient using NVIDIA hardware over AMD? That's my best guess. Perhaps I'm mistaken and you are merely sharing you own personal preference? If so, that's cool with me as I'm far from a loyalist and as an avid hardcore gamer have no fanboy allegiances. One year it's NVIDIA the next, AMD. It's just so happens that my research has consistently lead me to buying ATI (AMD) over the decades due to a price/performance advantage.

Finally, might I ask, are you anything to do with the golfsimulatorforum.com website? If so, then I'm a wee bit concerned that there might be a conflict of interests. Personally, and from the limited time I've been here, I'd like to say that there is an obvious bias towards TGC. No other sim has been stickied yet even though WGT has been their most successful ST thread since the inception of this forum in terms of stats. Given the number of sims out there, this is messed up.

Perhaps I'm a deluded conspiracy theorist, or maybe, just maybe, this forum is a sham.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but these days the consumers are in control; Due diligence is an investigation of a business or person prior to signing a contract, or an act with a certain standard of care. It can be a legal obligation, but the term will more commonly apply to voluntary investigations.

        • Seriously?
I honestly don't understand some people and their expectations.
This is a forum, on the Internet.
          I...I... Have no words.
          Really?

          • I feel TurfWar has some valid points. wilson we are here discussing TGC and Skytrak, that's what turfwar is doing. We do live in an age where we have many tools to complete our due diligence and not just take peoples opinions.

I too would love to demo TGC and would like to know also if TGC will be offered to demo on a two week trial, monthly subscription, or if just going to be a buy it and no other option software.

I'm sure we'll find out those answers soon, but as for turfwar's queiries, I'm curious to know the answers too.

            • This thread is about TGC for SkyTrak. We do not want to keep you or anyone else in the dark, so we reply to questions and post screen shots and videos. Yes we promote TGC as much as we can. Its awesome software - we even think its the best out there- and we want the world to know. If other software suppliers want to promote their software on the forums they should be here and talk about it like us.

No idea what the criteria for a stickie thread is. If you want a thread to be stickie, you need to ask a moderator.

Did you see our TGC advertisements? Yes we advertise on the forums. Its expensive but its a great way to let new and existing sim owners know TGC exists. TGC was released in August 2014 and we can not expect everyone just to know about this great software.

Of course we have a personal GPU preference on which work well with TGC. We are in the simulation business since 2001 and have found many more problems with AMD/ATI than with NVidia. We are only giving you our professional advise based on our experience. You are free to do your due dilligence and buy anything you want. Its also your own decision if you buy TGC or not, like its your own decision to buy a SkyTrak and not a ProTee system.

Again for pricing, subscriptions, demo's and availability you need to talk to SkyTrak. They are the ones releasing it and selling it in the SkyGolf online stores. We provide the software and gave them various pricing options (yes including subscriptions), but its up to them to to set the retail price and decide on which options to offer.

              • I have been on this forum for about 1 year and must say that the ST + TGC combo seams to be the most interesting golf sim solution available currently.
From what I can see it also looks like the ProTee support is amazing, as is stated very often.
But I have also noticed that the leading personalities here have a religious bias towards ProTee products. Does not mean they are wrong or there is a hidden agenda. But I definitely see the need for a second opinion and that can be found here. You just have to dodge some of the not so objective opinions that get thrown around.
Nothing wrong with that and exactly the way a forum should be where everybody has a say.
As for the excellent question and equally excellent answer above. We could have done without the use of the word "sham" in the question and the last sentence in the reply.

              • And what about... Pebble Beach! Another great addition to the TGC course database.

                • Whats more accurate SKYTRAK OF PROTEE???? It seems like protee is a bigger badder brother of P3 and the only beef I have with mine is hitting off that stupid sensor.

                  • Rcush88 This thread is about TGC with ST, not about SkyTrak or ProTee accuracy. You can read here about how to test your SkyTrak accuracy: http://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum/...ical-faq/page2

ProTee does not only has more club and ball sensors than P3, but also has 2 high speed cameras and a natural feel Fiberbuilt turf system. The ProTee system will actually show you the HLA and VLA on the camera images. The maximum deviation you will see (with your own eyes) here is +/- 1 degrees.

Please stay on topic. If you want more details, please start a new topic in a relevant forum. ProTee hardware for example.
