Will TGC absolutely require USB connection, or is there going to be a way to utilize the wi-fi shot processing Skytrak currently uses? It would be nice to use my home gaming PC -- I could use a Steam Link to connect my projector in the garage to my PC in the house, but if the shots cannot process via wi-fi it would mean running a super long USB cable through the wall which I would love to avoid.Comment

Okay, so I was asked to benchmark a few settings with this new graphics card.
I used the ProTee version of Magnolia National white tees and using fraps, I noted the frames per second from the 1st tee.
I launched the game in high mode @ 1080p @ 60 Hz. Vsync - OFF Depth of Field - OFF Anti-aliasing - ON.
First test was with all settings maxed out and I only altered the Object Detail setting

I then set Tree Count and Tree Distance to 50% (5000 and 1000 respectively) and got these numbers.

60 fps is playable in my book as when the game slows down during certain shots, you wouldn't notice a dip to say, 45 fps.

Agree 100% with the 16GB of RAM. RAM is generally the best bang for your buck, especially with a modern OS that is capable of utilizing it.
I'd also think about getting a brand name power supply instead of something generic. The latter tend to overrate true output. Moreover, a lot of them can be annoyingly loud.
PSU fans tend to be the most substantial source of noise in a PC, followed by the fans on video cards. Asus and a bunch of other companies now have the video cards running near silent unless they are under load (and even then, things are vastly improved). With a good video card and a quality PSU, the computer should be fairly silent instead of sounding like a jet engine.
Finally, a good PSU--the most likely part of the PC to break--will have a good warranty. I'm partial to Seasonic myself, but there are other good options.
I'm holding off until it actually releases. Once it does, I'm going to build a couple of real fire-breathers. One for a sim setup and another for business use. I've found that it's easiest to upgrade (read: replace) multiple PCs at the same time. Makes it easier when dealing with configuration, BIOS issues, etc.
Only question mark for me right now is the motherboard. I want to do something that supports Skylake. I'm just looking for USB 3.1, and there's not a whole lot of choice among micro-ATX boards.Last edited by Ookie; 10-28-2015, 06:03 AM.Comment

Seth from SkyTrak mentioned recently that whenever he doesn't post for a while it suggests that something 'big' is about to happen.
That, I'd say, is as close as we're going to get to a hint that we might be getting close.
Apart from that it's anyone's guess. Personally I don't see them releasing a demo and I don't see them giving us any prior notice. Why we have to be kept in the dark is beyond me but I suppose that is their prerogative.
So take a guess. days, weeks, months or next year.
