  • Firmware update.

    My yearly Skytrak membership expired about a month ago, so last Thursday I went on their site to renew. All went fine there.

    Then when I fired up my Skytrak and App to try to play, the files would not sync.

    I tried direct mode and network mode.

    So I went on their site and tried to do it manually. Then it told me my ESN was correct, but it wasnt wrong because it is the ESN on the bottom of my unit and on the original box.

    Long story short, I literally have to take the time to ship this thing to Jantek Canada for a Firmware update. She said I missed an update, and if that happens it has to be done manually by Jantek….

    Has anybody else had this issue? This is really annoying.

    Weird. There hasn't been a firmware update in a very long time. Second, all the past updates are available from the website.

      Id do a chat with Skytrak before sending to Jantek, I found Jantek to be pretty much useless.

        Contact Skytrak Support. They can fix SW problems remotely online. I've never heard of anyone having to send the unit away to upload the current FW. As far as I know, Skytrak SW always includes the FW for the unit and the FW update is done through Skytrak SW.

          I agree, something seems strange here. Not to mention when they sent back my renewal it was for the wrong ESN.

          I got on Skytrak chat last week about this issue, the guys noted the issue and said that it had to be dealt with by one of his “higher ups” and it would be done in 1 - 2 business days.

          Not hearing anything back in 3 business days, so I gave them a call, and this is what the person told me, that since I missed a FW update (I dont think I did, because I just got this machine last year) that I would literally have to send it back to them to be updated. I asked is there anyway I can just do this, and no sir she replied. I told that that was very inconvienient.

          But I will try Skytrak Chat again today just to see if theres another way.

            Another update..

            Just talked to Skytrak Chat, they told me I was going to have to call the 1800 number. Called that and they told me again it will have to be sent in for Firmware Update.

              I'm pretty sure the only function of the Skytrak Chat is to respond telling you that you need to call the 800 number...

              Jason Penner I decided to call Jancor today to inquire. She said she was going to look into it first and had never heard of this issue before. So hopefully they can get it figured out for me and not have to send in. 🤞🏻🤞🏻
