  • SkyTrak repair

My SkyTrak is out of warranty, long ago. The charging USB connector fell off inside the box thus not allowing me to charge. Can I just take it to a computer repair shop and have them fix it or is that wishful thinking?

    TIA

Can't see why not. And if you fix it, consider adding an extender or similar so that you put less wear on it.

I kept my Skytrak in the protection case and always charged it with a Battery pack Velcroed to the back. Often while we used it. I had a very short cable wrapped around the case opening and never removed the plug from skytrak only the Battery pack when taking it off. The mini USB ports are extremely fragile. Nothing should really be made using them.

Hello, I came across your post about opening a Skytrak enclosure and thought I'd reach out for help. I have a Skytrak ST + and the usb c connector is broken. My unit is out of warranty so I'm okay to open the case and determine if I could complete the repair myself or send it in. Unfortunately, I'm unable to open the case to see the components inside the unit. I've worked on high end valve guitar amplifiers so I'm comfortable with basic electronic repairs including a simple repair like reconnecting or soldering a small usb c connector to the circuit board but I'm unable to open the case. Can you help? Any ideas? Thank you, JC
