  • ST versus TM

At times we have the ability to hit on Trackman and so I decided to see if ST numbers would match TM. I decided to take my ST down and hit with it the same time as TM. I was not able to do a lot of indepth analysis.....but I will say this....the one number I care about the most....which is carry.....was never off by more than 2 yards of Trackman on over 60 shots. ST again proves to me it is worth the money. I will do more analysis as I have opportunity. Ball flights looked very similar. I am not sure I had both systems pointing at the exact same target, but it was very refreshing to know I can be confident in the numbers I have checked so far. This ST unit is solid people!!!!

Very cool! We did all of our preliminary testing alongside Trackman at Golf Laboratories (on a robot). I wasn't there for that, but the guys who set it up testified that it was quite a process making sure the two systems were lined up exactly and accounting for wind, etc. Kudos to you for getting it done!

It has been on the to do list for quite some time but I had to build a leveling enclosure first.
Before you start comparing the numbers please read the text first. Especially the one on wind and target alignment.
I am not very happy with the quality of the test and will go back and do it again some other time.
But in the spirit of something is better than nothing, here it is.

While you look at fixing the image, can you maybe just let us know if the numbers between TM and SK matched?

Crap I see now that the upload reduces the image size to something that is not readable. I have no idea how to upload this data since only images seam to be allowed. If anybody knows please share?

you can try uploading to photobucket and then copy the img tag to a post. It should keep the full size picture then. If you go to the protecting skytrak thread on the first page, you will see where I did this and how big the image shows up as. I think I was the third post

Dialog will open. Goto the upload tab. Select the image and send to server.

That's all. You will see some options like Thumbnail, Small, Medium, Large, etc. Do not touch. It will insert full size.

                    Hi everybody
My name is Thomas Rosenberg and comes from Denmark .
I purchased a Skytrak & was the first in Denmark
Par2pro have been the man who has helped me to have it sent .
I am Clubfitter & 've made this for 2.5 years.
I even got the opportunity to test my Skytrak vs Trackman with my mentor who taught me in Clubfitting
Personally I did not think that data fluctuates so much.

I look forward to simulator software comes out
Here you can see what I'm doing .

OK, thanks admin for the tutorial.
                      Here it is.
For me it confirmed a few things. First off the horizontal accuracy. It's not within the +/- 2 degrees always. In some cases it's spot on and in others it's way off.
VLA accuracy is better but not great. For all other parameters that are at least to me much more important. It's very accurate.
I also learned that I do swing harder (or better or whatever. The distance is anyway longer) when outside vs. my garage. If you would have asked me yesterday before the test, I would been prepared to bet money I swing exactly the same.

Hmmmm not sure how that will work out. We will see once admin edits the post.
For those of you that want all the data in an XL format so you can add compensation for wind or whatever.
Here is a link to my dropbox folder that contains the XL doc, picture and video of the setup.

Grab it while you can, not sure how long I will leave it there.

Some interesting numbers. High loft wedges seem to be off more than your lower and mid loft irons.
Drivers were closeish (if that's a word.....). Nice work on the excel file, very impressive.
