  • Skytrak not registering every shot

I have had the Skytrak for 4-5 days, and have used it every day. The last couple of days, more and more shots are not being registered. It has even come to a point where I have had to power off the unit and power it back on. After a shot, normally the laser dot will go away, the unit will think, and the laser dot will re-appear, and the shot will show up on the ipad. But now, nothing unless I turn off my unit and restart it. Then it will work for a couple of shots, and then start missing them again. Of course I have tried experimenting on ball placement, in front of the laser dot, behind, next to it, I tried changing anything white in the background, making sure the black ball labels are facing the unit, etc....

I am using it on a 5x10 county club elite mat, so same mat as I hit on, same level. Any thoughts other than sending it back?

Have you tried hitting flops with the ball moved in front of the red dot (toward your screen/net)? Supposedly this helps with high launching shots.

I couldn't image that being a software upgrade right, but hardware change to capture a flop?

Yes, ball front edge max 65mm in front of red dot helps but not enough to do flop shots. The ST spec claims max 55 degree VLA.

Try moving the ball in front of the red dot. I've had some success with flop shots doing that.

I posted before I saw the other responses. I hadn't really paid too close attention to the numbers, but did get the shot to successfully register.

The issue you are describing (laser always staying on during shot) sounds like the unit wasn't even getting triggered in the first place. The box triggering is step 1, so the software doesn't have anything to do with that. The only time I ever get no triggers is on a topped shot with zero or negative launch angle or flop shots. Please let me know if this continues to be a problem. The only other thing I could think of is battery - make sure it's charged. White club head etc. can be an issue for actually processing the images, but shouldn't affect the preliminary trigger of the unit - it would simply not process the shot.
please test with white shaft. i have many iron set. and my mp69's shaft is kbs white custom c tape shaft. and my nike vrs forged shaft is Matrix program 120 white shaft.

skytrak can read another any shaft withought this white shaft..

            please test and comment..

White shafts are an issue; I had the same problem some months ago. Seth's answer, which works fine is move the ball to the right of the dot.

As others mentioned, an inch to two inches to the right and Skytrak picks up all of my iron shots with those shafts.

I've had some success setting the ball about 10-30mm the right of the dot (as a right hander) when hitting 7i etc.

For me i have to play wedges with the ball 1" to the right of the dot and slightly nearer the ST. Ocassionally when irons are not picked up I move upto 2" to the right.
