More problems in TGC2019 with ST - not recognizing left-handed play

This has got to be the worst upgrade with SkyTrak and TGC2019 as I have had nothing but problems. Had all kinds of trouble getting the software installed, once installed, it was not working properly. Needed to completely restart the computer to even get the interface to launch. I spent a couple of sessions with Technical service connecting to my computer and going through a couple of updates to their interface software. Finally got it working yesterday and it worked pretty well. Almost no misreads and seemed that everything was going well.

When I tried to fire it up today, the interface was saying that there was another update available so I installed that. Lauched TGC2019 and it only gives me a right-handed play option even though I am left-handed. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, restarting, etc. but it still only gives me right-handed play option even though ST recognizes that I am left-handed.

Anyone else having this issue or have any advice? I have had this right-handed issue previously when the ST lost connection and I had to restart the device. Usually, it would reconnect fine but every once in a while, if I had to reconnect several times in the round, it would flip to right-handed and I had to restart everything.

I don't understand what is happening here.

I came here to see if anybody else was having this issue. I just got all setup to play, and I can't play as a lefty now. Bummer.

OK, I have downloaded and installed the new interface only, and this seemed to resolve the left-handed problem. However, I am still having an issue. When I start the computer for the first time, turn on the ST, ensure that it is in network mode, and then launch the interface, it will connect and I can launch the game.

However, once I close the game and close the interface, I cannot get the interface to launch again. When I try to open the interface, I will get the blue circle (Windows wait cursor) pops up twice but the interface never launches again. The only way I seem to be able to get it to launch again is by completely restarting the computer and launching again for the first time. This has been an issue since the updates have been launched.

As I am writing this, I am testing a few different scenarios and I realized that, after attempting to launch the interface (after shutting the game and the interface down but leave the ST on), I will wait several minutes and nothing happens. If I turn off the ST and turn it back on, the the interface will launch after about 30 seconds. This doesn't seem to be the case when the computer is started up for the first time (i.e., the ST can be on already). Also, it looks like when the game and interface are shut down, the top light of the ST is red and bottom two lights are green. When I restart the computer or when I shut down the ST and start up again, it goes to network mode (middle light yellow) and then the interface will launch.

I am not sure if this is a bug or if it is supposed to behave like this, but this is what I have found.

When you close the interface, the interface will still be running in the background in the Windows system tray. It's not actually closed. The 2 green lights would indicate that the SkyTrak is still connected to the interface which would explain the weird behaviour.

Can you please confirm (and double check) that the interface is not still running in the windows system tray (look for the ProTee icon) when the issue happens?

I've had a very similar issue. I start up either the Skytrak software or TGC2019 and it seems to default to right handed. If I exit the relevant software, disconnect the Skytrak and then reconnect, and then start up the software again (no computer reboot or anything), it properly enters left-handed mode.

Hi, sorry for the delay in replying. I did check and found that, indeed, the interface was still running in the background in the Windows system tray. If I right click on that to disconnect the interface, then I can launch the interface again. This seems to be a little different process from the previous version as I don't recall needing to disconnect that each time in order to get it to relaunch.

I was able to try this out a couple of times and it seemed to be working alright. I finally had a chance to play a round and got a couple of holes in before the interface disconnected. and would not reconnect. All three lights on the ST were still green and I still had the red dot, but the interface said that it was disconnected and it would not register any shots. When this happened previously, I would get a red light and no red dot. I disconnected the interface and reconnected, but then the game went back to right-handed mode and I had to completely shut the game, interface and restarted the ST (for good measure - although I did not restart the computer) and relaunched everything and it came up in Left-handed mode and I could finish that round and another round without any disruption.

There still seems to be some inconsistency with network mode though and one of the service guys mentioned that they were still working on that.

What I've done in the past when TGC seems to loose sync/connection with the Skytrak is to power cycle the Skytrak only, with 10 or so seconds delay between power off and power on. Then I go to the TGC Interface in the System Tray icon, open the GUI and re-conenct. The TGC game resumes normally. Though I haven't done that since the recent updates in the last few months... Hope it helps...
