Perfect Golf (beta) for Skytrak

Perfect Golf might look like a great game but has way too many bugs, even for an early access game still under development. It has a very long way to go before it can be mentioned in the same sentence as TGC, E6, ProTee and Red Chain. There is no AI, no stats, no tournament play and online play servers crash frequently. It currently has 10 courses and no stable (commercially) released version.

Price is unknown, but keep in mind you will be buying a beta product.

Was a comment made by the Creators of PG last week. They expected a release Monday, but again, something has transpired somewhere to delay it.
It's ready, SkyGolf just has to let it be available on the storefront for purchase.

Wow. The bottom looks very realistic. I haven't bought either. Waiting for my computer, enclosure and screen. Should be in here in about 2 weeks. Will be hard to wait on Perfect Golf if it isn't ready by then.

Augusta looks incredible! What an amazing replication. The fact that Perfect Golf can use LIDAR data means that the topography will be extremely accurate. Looks like sim golf is going to the next level!

Some of you have been drinking the PG koolaid too long...TGC designers are free to use any topographical data available including LIDAR.

There may be other aspects that differentiate a given PG/TGC title but that shouldn't be one of them.

that's a lame answer from HB. Why purposefully hold back your tech to the lowest common denominator hardware? And watch your competition pass you by.

PerfectParallel is in business to generate very accurate terrain models using lidar and other data. Making a golf game using that data is just an added bonus.

The courses created by PP will be very close to real-life. TGC course creation has none of the tools that PG has. Thats not to say some TGC courses are not well made, but it just doesnt have the tooling to allow the accuracy that PG has.

Does that mean PG is better than TGC, not at all. But I suspect the real-world courses on PG will be enough of a bonus to drive lots of sales. I already own TGC and will be giving PG at least a 1-year try.

The thread you referred to was addressing automatically importing elevation data versus using it manually. It had nothing to do with whether TGC designers use topo data (including LIDAR). It is a matter of record that many TGC designers use LIDAR data in their course designs.

If memory serves October 20ish was WGT, Feb 22 was TGC so maybe May 22 (90 day Windows?) is close?
