Just read the PDF - hit the green button bozo and it re-arms without ALT-TAB'ing....

Putting is good - although having spent 8 months skipping putting on E6 and WGT i find it hard to get used to speed. I have a few 6 putts already
Chipping has been ok. I have 5-6 times had to ALT-TAB to the control panel and re-arm and hit again, a few of those I had to do it multiple times and still had to whack it harder than i would have liked.
I was at hole 4 on Wingedfoot and the Skytrak app crashed - restarted and it crashed again. So that's not fantastic.

but overall it's very usable and enjoyable. I made 5 or 6 mid range putts for birdie, and feel that the physics are about what my body suggests based on the green look.
Played TPC and Mulligans Municipal (what a super course!) so far.

The thread you referred to was addressing automatically importing elevation data versus using it manually. It had nothing to do with whether TGC designers use topo data (including LIDAR). It is a matter of record that many TGC designers use LIDAR data in their course designs.

If memory serves October 20ish was WGT, Feb 22 was TGC so maybe May 22 (90 day Windows?) is close?

My bet is May. I hijacked one of SkyTrak's facebook posts pimping WGT, and all they said was "very soon".

Any idea if we'll see this before the weekend? Early next week?

PerfectParallel is in business to generate very accurate terrain models using lidar and other data. Making a golf game using that data is just an added bonus.

The courses created by PP will be very close to real-life. TGC course creation has none of the tools that PG has. Thats not to say some TGC courses are not well made, but it just doesnt have the tooling to allow the accuracy that PG has.

Does that mean PG is better than TGC, not at all. But I suspect the real-world courses on PG will be enough of a bonus to drive lots of sales. I already own TGC and will be giving PG at least a 1-year try.

that's a lame answer from HB. Why purposefully hold back your tech to the lowest common denominator hardware? And watch your competition pass you by.

Nope, that's not correct. This from Paul at HB:

"There's no way to import an elevation height map from an image file for a new course, is there?"

The issue with putting it into the game is how do we support this on consoles? Its not really possible to my knowledge on uploading an image onto your PS4 or xBox One and then having this load into the game. We want the course creation experience to be the same across all platforms so we can't really do this for the PC and ignore the console players.
Working...
