    Skytrak+ Misread Question

I have the original Skytrak & purchased it in January. I am debating if it is worth upgrading. My Home complaint is the misreads (shots that don't get read). For you guys that own the plus what are your thoughts on misreads? Less or similar? If it is not better in that department I would likely not upgrade.

I currently get about 2% no reads on my skytrak. I’ve used a few other launch monitors and find they all have the occasional hiccup. I would think the skytrak+ is no more or less perfect than anything else.

I had been struggling with this as well. I sent them a picture of my setup for any insight. They recommended lowering the legs on the case. Skytak is designed to be at the same level as the ball, mine was above. This has completely fixed my issue. Throwing it out there in case you are dealing with the same.

This is the biggest cause of no reads. Making sure the unit is at the same level as your hitting surface is crucial to achieving the best performance.

Yup, as Jordan states, wrong height most common source of misreads (and also no-reads). And most of those come from those who have unit on hitting mat with feet in. The instructions are actually pretty clear now ... wasn't always the case. Also, the unit does not read very high or very low shots well. The standard ball placement recommendations will help, but stay under 50 degrees regardless.

OttawaP mentions 2%, but that is the typical no-read rate. Impossible to know the true misread rate without a high end LM side by side. A properly setup Skytrak may have about 2% obvious misread, but depends on trajectory of shots. My estimate is that Skytrak is bang-on for about 80-85% of shots, with minor misreads (not noticeable without another LM) at around 15%, and as mentioned, obvious misreads at around 1 or 2%.

For what it's worth, I just just upgraded to a mevo plus 2023 from a skytrak original and I've had 0 no reads. Also I don't get the massive hooks that I often got with my skytrak.
