I just ordered my ST today and I am so pumped to get it!!! I have been reading your posts for the last few months now and I just picked up some 1/4 " lexan from Home Depot today. I refuse to pay for the cheap plastic protective case they sell for $120 that doesn't protect a golf ball from going through the sensors. I realize that the chance of a decent golfer hitting directly into the end of slim to none but I plan on inviting many friends to try this out and want to protect my investment of all costs. Everyone on this form has been very helpful and I've received many great ideas out of it. I am pretty much done with my garage simulator setup and I will be sure to share it with all of you between the sky track the iPad impact screen and projector my total cost will be under $3,800 this also includes installing a gas furnace in my garage for the cold Ohio winters. Im in Brunswick. My ST finally came today. I still probably have another day's worth of work for all the finishing touches of running the cable installing pot lights and whatnot but this has been fun! I'd love to exchange ideas with you my company is down in the Akron Canton area all the time but honestly feel free to make your way up here anytime. I will be sure to post some finished photos of this garage / man cave haha!!!

Welcome and good luck, GolfAddict1983! Be patient as most of the bugs get worked out over time. You're clearly going into this with eyes open, so try not to let frustration get the better of you as it has many of us. It's a good unit, if the software is not yet quite what some had hoped. Keep your customer service expectations low, don't believe the hype (no matter how apparently sincere the claims), and enjoy many hours of good indoor driving range use. Sim will arrive eventually.Comment

some pics of my setup with the case is below This was my first attempt. I actually made the cut out in the lexan prior to receiving my skytrak. I used the plans provided by davray666. Going right off his plans I did not make it tall enough so I had to build up the bottom edge with a 2 by 2 piece of wood and then used a combination of sticky back foam screws and duct tape. Still probably better protection from the factory. Pwade3 your case is really nice! How did you bend the material like that? -
I used an automotive heat gun. Just run the heat gun back and forth on the exact line where the bend needs to be and when its hot enough, it will bend very easily. Friend of mine was a glazer back in the day and thats how they did all there stuff at the shop. It works really well. Youtube it also and you will find examples.

I made this today. Took a couple of hours. I will make the next one a little smaller, but I wanted a battery pack to fit inside. Industrial plastic store that I bought the sheet from said it is bullet proof and can handle a hit from a golf ball. Hopefull I don't have to find out. Sorry about the pics being turned. I can't seem to figure out why? I even turned them sideways in my photo album, but they keep showing up like this not matter what. Anyone know why?Comment

Hey nice work on the cases. Thought about making the front out of 1/4 lexan, as mentioned by some on this thread. Can anyone attest to the strength, is that material sufficient? Is it easy to cut without breaking? ThanksComment
