SkyTrak and WGT

Hi all,

I have seen many people asking about skytrak and WTG and it seems like that the people who are beta testing TGC and E6 have never
played or tested WTG. It seems like nobody in this forum has tested it. There is no videos ... nothing. But from what I keep hearing
skytrak is coming out with WTG first...? Is there anybody who has some more detailed info or talked to somebody who tested it ?
I'm only interested cause I'm pretty sure it will be the cheapest of all versions and to test it out it would be that big of an investment.
I own a skytrak since about 5 month and can't wait for course play. The problem is I'm on the road a lot so I will not be able to play
on a regular basis. That's why TGC ,even that it seems to be the best choice, doesn't make much sense if it's going to be a monthly
prescription. Really hope to get some infos or even videos about skytrak with WTG.

To best play WGT with skytrak, you are better off not using a projector. As noted before not every shot is pictured straight on to the target. Most are but not all. My setup has a monitor to the side of my net. What I find the best solution is to set your aiming point in the game then don't look at it again. Focus on just hitting the ball straight ahead in line with your skytrak unit. If you have a projector just focus on hitting the dead middle of the screen. Then you'll be fine.

I had the chance to finally play WGT with the SkyTrak today. My shot should go straight with the SkyTrak wherever its alignment mode has me aiming and that is supposed to coincide with the aimpoint on WGT? It seemed as if everything I hit went dead right(Lefty golfer) of the WGT target even though it seemed to be aligned with a straight shot on SkyTrak. My tendency is a pull hook so maybe I just suck since not touching a club in 3 months?

Is it possible to play WGT on a Laptop/Desktop with Skytrak ?

if you have a mac/imac you can do the quicktime trick, that works very well. Don't know if there is something similar on Windows machines?

If you connect your iPhone/iPad to a MacBook or iMac and then startup QuickTime. Go to file-New Movie Recording and then a window comes up with normally your Mac iSight camera. Select the little arrow next to the red record button and change the source to the iPhone/iPad screen. Then you can resize and use that. You don't have to hit record, but you have the option of you want too.

Nah, you don't suck. I'm a lefty golfer too and that's what I deal with on WGT too.

Try E6, it's way more fun, the range is as fun or even a bit better than the skytrak app. If you just want to warm up and play 18 holes of the free course, give the E6 demo a try, it's well worth it.

I haven't tried the E6 yet. Is that downloaded onto a PC or is that an IOS download? I haven't purchased a PC for my mancave yet while waiting for TGC so I only use the Ipad(WGT) for Sim right now. We have laptops around so if E6 is PC based will they work? The E6 is a demo for 30 days? I have 2 weeks of farm work yet so don't want to download now and waste a couple of weeks while it sits idle.

So last night I had the chance to "share" the skytrak / wgt experience. Now these were not scratch golfers mind you... In 2 days I've now experienced the "auto-tapping putt” at least 5 times. IMO THIS IS PRIORITY 1TO FIX! how embarrassing? Hit the ball to 9 feet no problem that's a gimme. Hot it to 1" oh well enjoy your 3 putt...

Don't know if i missed this, but what are the putting options in WGT?
1-Can you select autoputt?
2-Can you select a gimme distance?
3-Can you manually enter a number putts after reaching green?
4-Can you select to only putt one time and then it be a gimme?

Hey doublebogey , I think it's only in practice mode. I've stop playing WGT and am just playing E6. I find the yardages and angles to far off to accept.

I've opened up a support ticket with WGT regarding the autoputt issue. Not sure who is supporting the app skytrak or wgt so starting there. More info as I hear it.

Thanks everyone for bringing the "auto-putt" bug to my attention. We are working on it. Can anyone confirm that it only happens when you are inches away?

That is correct. I've only seen "attempting to autoputt" when the ball is practically in the hole. Every time that has occurred for me so far the ball gets wacked some 10-20 feet away. Should be easy to reproduce. It's failed 100% of the time for me. I haven't tried not accepting a gimmie to make it easy to knock close to reproduce. Cuzz gimmies are well, good to take lol. But that could be an easy way to make it happen...

So there's been a lot of negative but how about some positive? Has anyone shot any good numbers on WGT yet? I had a really nice round going at St. Andrews a few nights ago. Had 3 birdies in a row and shot 34 on the front. The back nine didn't go very well though. Kept hitting the fringe and wacking the ball long. We need to start posting some happy thoughts and turn this forum around!

So tonight I played more WGT. I'm now at the "amateur" level which is really a shame. Now all gimmes are given at less than 4 feet. Because of inaccuracies in putting I'm now expected to just take a two Putt from anyone inside 8 feet and above. Why a 5 foot Putt on the green isn't a gimme but a chip to 5 feet is I don't get. I will submit to wgt directly if necessary but feeling like a beta tester again today. I would have loved to beta test and provide updates but I wasn't asked. Do I report to wgt directly or does this help @skyyrak Seth? Seth has been awesome (well beyond whats expected) but I want to report these issues to the most efficient route to resolution possible
