SkyTrak and WGT

Hi all,

I have seen many people asking about skytrak and WTG and it seems like that the people who are beta testing TGC and E6 have never
played or tested WTG. It seems like nobody in this forum has tested it. There is no videos ... nothing. But from what I keep hearing
skytrak is coming out with WTG first...? Is there anybody who has some more detailed info or talked to somebody who tested it ?
I'm only interested cause I'm pretty sure it will be the cheapest of all versions and to test it out it would be that big of an investment.
I own a skytrak since about 5 month and can't wait for course play. The problem is I'm on the road a lot so I will not be able to play
on a regular basis. That's why TGC ,even that it seems to be the best choice, doesn't make much sense if it's going to be a monthly
prescription. Really hope to get some infos or even videos about skytrak with WTG.

Just played WGT last night with my ST.
I was wondering if it was really as bad as some people were complaining about....and it's pretty bad. lol
Oh well, it is what it is until a real sim software is released.

This was my reaction:

Ball's in the fairway...take my swing....ball starts flying from the other side of the screen.
"What? my ball was over there?" LOL

Tried to play Wolf Creek too since I played it last Feb IRL and was very disappointed that it's not the real full course!

Haven't played wgt since I got the e6 demo working. Not sure why but the soft chips work on my setup.

Would you mind posting a video of this working in e6 Mario? Seems you are the only one this is working for and I'd like to see the specifics of your setup as this could help others solve the mystery

Will do. I'm between set ups. Replacing my current setup of net and old laptop with all new gear from par2pro and new computer. Hopefully will be all ready late next week.

For me, I often find I'm in a situation where short chips just off the green won't register and unless you hit it hard enough to send flying into the bunker on the other side of the green. There doesn't seem to be any way to put from the fringe. I guess you have to be Phil Mickelson or something. Hitting something like a low running 7 iron doesn't seem to work. Somethings I feel like there may as well be a "just give me a 10" button you can push.

If you are short on that type of shot and don't make it to the green, your ball dies like it's got velcro on it. But if you make it on the green, it's rolling to the other side.

EXACTLY! Or in bunker but cannot read high flops over lip of bunker so often I find myself having to get out of bunker backwards.

But the worst is chip that hits pin stops right at hole - instead of gimme it goes to automatic auto putt that putts the ball 40-50 feet and off the green.

I haven't played wgt in at least a month but the fact that the autoputt issue still hasn't been fixed is an insult to anyone that paid even a dollar for this game. You have to imagine that this just isn't that hard a fix, they just don't care about fixing it. Sad

oh, yea... forgot about the bunkers. Another annoyance is, you have to position your shot every single time your O.B., 3-from-the-tee, or just using mulligans for practice.

I sent a Facebook message to Skytrak. They were very quick to respond. I asked about the autoputt issue and they told me that they would talk with their Dev team about it and get back to me. About an hour later they sent me another message stating that they had spoke to Dev and the autoputt issue is supposed to be fixed in the next release of WGT that was submitted to Apple last week. So, we should be on the lookout for an update of WGT and report back our findings. Hopefully this, as well as some of the chipping and putting issues will be addressed in this new release and make WGT a bit more playable. Good news!

I had too, but it was only $100. No, it wasn't worth the money originally, but i'm hopeful that it will get to the point where it's actually playable. At this point I'm just glad to hear something positive coming out of the forum, even if it's only a WGT update...

Plenty of stuff:
a) 8x10 screen
b) black drapes for the side and top (makes it look very clean and square)
c) tracks to attach drapes
d) projector and mount
e) Tee-up Turf 4x6

Separately bought

a) skytrak - ouch! big error on my part
a) new PC (had an associate in my office build it because as @luv2 put it "what - are you new to computers?" - yes)
b) touch screen monitor - dell 22"
c) covered the floor - 1/2 turf other half hard wood (viewing area) - room is 14x30ft
d) bunch of other miscellaneous golf stuff

almost done pulling it all together - I'm going to post a soft chip on the appropriate thread as soon as I can per Tekbud's previous request.

I'm sure I'm going to be reprimanded by someone for posting this information on this thread - oh well.

Hit my driver and it would only go 220 even with the firm fairways. These were good strikes with the driver too. Normally on my home course it would be about 250-280.
Can't even change where I'm trying to aim either.....ugh

Agreed on the distance frustrations. You can change where you're aiming though. Just drag and drop the marker/flag.

Sounds like lots of fun with good ol' WTF (I mean WGT). Tell you what I did before I sold my skytrak........ If you switch your view to see your approach/chip/ect from behind, it doesn't look like such an off angle.

As for the distance, I would really like to know why SkyTrak_Seth or someone from WTF hasn't fixed that yet. There's anywhere from 10 yards to 30 yards of variation depending on what club your hitting.

This has been out since October 15th. What's going on? I feel bad for arwin, you pay good money for a product that doesn't deliver.

Good for you =) I'm stubbornly holding out for a good used Apple-compatible unit while waiting for more details on ES16 as well as seeing if ST can improve its customer service and biz model in meantime...

WGT is a video game maker not a real sim software maker so I doubt they even know this forum exists. Hence them posting on this forum is as likely as the maker of Angry Birds posting here...

Just recent purchased a Skytrak Launch Monitor including the Game Improvement Play. After having solved several issues with the connection I now meet the problem of "Unlock Strokeplay thry Skytrak". (see attachment). Anyone having the same problem lately and what did you do to solve this ? I really would appreciate your help !

I believe strokeplay is only available on certain courses. Try another like Kiawah. Hmm never mind just noticed front 9 is available. Did you purchase WGT in addition to GIP?

Yes Tekbud, I did purchased WGT with GIP ($199,95). By the way, I did try other courses as well but each of them gave the same message.

Your Play & Improve Package is probably not properly linked to your SkyTrak device. Contact SkyGolf using their chat and have it linked and then you should be fine.
