Let's all take a deep breath

Looks like things have gotten a little tense here as of late, and I can understand why, but let's take a collective deep breath.

First, there's been a lot going on behind the scenes. I've tried to describe previously how complicated this is with as many partners are involved. If this is any indication, if I happen to go missing for an extended period of time (a week or two), then that probably means something big is about to go down. I've stated it in other threads but this forum is not my job, but rather a felt personal responsibility to keep you all informed as loyal customers, and in many cases, early adopters. However, when the nose has to go to the grindstone, my actual job here, managing not only the development, planning, and release of our software but also many partners, has to take precedence.

I'm also not customer support, but I try when I can to help out by either providing direct help, referring to the correct person to help, or even just relaying suggestions on how the process can be improved.

Now that we finally have licensing in place and our first full course play option out in the field, the elephant in the room is most obviously your subscriptions. I will be reaching out today to those of you who PM'd me directly in response to my data syncing thread. For the rest of you, you will receive an email today with an upgrade option for WGT if you plan to do so. This will take into account prorated pricing so if you bought the GIP last week, you aren't paying another $100 for it today. Your GIP and WGT will all start fresh though, so you will have a year on both.

This release of v2.0 + WGT was a humongous effort all around and certainly more complicated than originally thought. But now that it is out there and working, it makes moving forward so much easier with all other sim partners and frees up resources on our end to continue making our app, our ball flight, our communication, and the overall SkyTrak experience that much better.

We have great things in store for the remainder of 2015. Thank you for helping us build a better product.

            Seth,
Sorry if this is a stupid question. Is the GIP separate pricing from the WGT. IE. do we need to pay another $99.95 for WGT even if we paid $99.95 for GIP? I just purchased skytrak and GIP beginning of this month. The email from skyTrak states I can upgrade for $99.95 to a new "Play and Improve package:" GIP, WGT full course and WGT closest to the hole all for $99.95. So am I understanding that this $99.95 offer is only to current users of GIP?

Not a stupid question at all. Yes, the GIP is the base subscription level. It unlocks everything in the SkyTrak software as well as opens the door to be able to use our simulation partner software. Each of those partner's pricing will be different, and it just so happens that WGT's is the same as the GIP.

Yes the $99 upgrade will only apply to people who very recently purchased the GIP. Others will have a more 'pro-rated' offer, as we will be resetting the GIP start date to match up with WGT.

Gotcha thanks. The email is a bit confusing. Has all three for $199.95 then says discount to $99.95. I assume new user is $199.95 package. Thanks Seth for all the help.

Bought my Skytrak at 8:00 am on the first day inc the described one time game improvement package. I had to be one of the first to buy. I was pushing reset button for hours until I got through. No word from Skytrak with a email. We should be taken care of since we put trust in this startup company. Seth, have someone take care of the ones who believed in your company. I believe this would happen. Let's see it soon!!!

Seth, not sure if you could have done things different either way and that no,matter which way you chose you would have still had critics. I think the biggest positive is that you are still here discussing and, offering feedback, which is what most people in the end will appreciate. There will always be bugs that need fixing and things pushing you in many directions. Stick to the things you have identified as priority and I a, sure in time all will be happy.

Seth, first of all, thanks for all your help. Everyone on this forum appreciates and values it tremendously.

That being said, you guys are still not "taking care" of the early adopters as promised. Looks like early adopters are simply getting their GIP extend pro-rated - but if they want the full WGT course play they will need to shell out an additional $200 on top of $100 already paid for GIP, so early adopters who had bought GIP need to pay $100 more to have full WGT course play vs. late-comers or people who read about the GIP scam on this or other forums thus chose not to buy GIP who only need to pay $200.

neboruchi summed it up the best (without even going into the one-time fee issue): "Moreover, since the GIP has been essentially useless the past year, why did they continue to sell the package online and take people's money for it?" I am sure there is consumer protection for consumers against companies that markets, sells and take money from customers for products which they did not need to begin with and do not clearly state or mark that the product is not needed - GIP over the last year or so clearly falls into this category. Not sure why SkyTrak is trying to nickel-and-dime everything given if there are any complaints to the Consumer Protection Agency, it will cost SkyTrak many times more than the pennies they're trying to save or charge the early adopter customers now.

That is not correct. Sigh..... for the last time, you were taken care of regarding your data sync issue. What that means essentially is that you were not out money for that time period and now have the option to add WGT to your fresh GIP for $99. If you didn't get that email, you should soon. Please take time and digest what is happening here before posting any more negative comments.

I have an idea. Why don't you guys log into your account on skygolf and take a look at the expiration date of your GIP.

Ok. I looked. It is exactly 1 year after it was activated is when it expires. Now what?
