    Skytrak Driver TOO LONG

My drives are too long in Skytrak. I drive around 230-240. A good drive might get out there at 260.
I was reviewing my stats in skygolf360 and noticed that Skytrak had recorded me consistently hitting long drives by my standards and some up to 281 yards.
What am I to do. Please help.

I suggest sending it back for warranty or better yet. Take it behind the house and bury it.

I see you like stirring the pot and honestly your just trying to stir up shit. With your ball speed at 140 and your club at 95 maybe you need to quit fooling everybody and lower the sea level down by about 10,000. Or maybe you changed the wind is at your back or you changed the fairway setting to hard

And if I'm wrong about the Above settings then would love to see a YouTube video with sea level at 2000 and the settings set at neutral and you still get those same numbers. Until then here's the shovel.

Interesting I dont think you offered a single video clip to back your own claims up.

Ok so this is a bit tongue in cheek. These numbers were from early in the year, outside at the range there was a strong-moderate wind coming from south west in relation to the range if North is dead ahead. So I set the wind to 10-15mph south west and ground to firm to match reality. Altitude remained at 500.

So theres more rollout and the balls got additional air time due to wind and low spin that I was working on. I guess all I'm saying its easy enough to tweak the app to match your local environment, if people want to see longer drives set it to firm and chuck in some wind. Note I changed the parameters to match my environment not to boost my ego.

    Handshake Willy?

I would just like to point out that the only way you can change the sea level is if you are a melting polar ice cap.

Maybe 5 yards extra. (Must be the wind component). Most of the added distance is from firm ground I think.
Because of my high launch angle I have a steep decent so I wouldnt typically expect much rollout. For instance at the golf course at the weekend it was wet and I got no roll at all.

Hey at least you have a positive launch angle!

I think the roll is giving you the added distance. Good that the carry is close. What happens when you change the ground conditions in the software?

It's ok if I put wind and ground to normal it's fine. Post was for willy but he rumbled me straight away.

In my environment (3500 feet) how far would you think a 163 mph ball at 7.9 degrees launch angle travel? I don't have spin numbers as I have a two camera system. I never paid much attention to angles and ball speed until I saw Hogan's charts. My driver ball speed is anywhere from 140 to 165 (based on 10 drives this morning) and angles from 5.9 to 13 degrees. My ball flight in TGC does resemble real life as far as angle, path and distance goes. Is there a benefit to hitting with a steeper launch angle? It seems to me that a lower launch angle goes farther IRL for me. I used 163/ 7.9 in the question as that was the drive that went the longest.

According to Flight Scope Optimizer... Using an estimated spin rate of 2,600 rpm and a perfectly straight launch with no side spin, your carry distance would be 256.4 yards. A total distance of 280.6 yards under normal turf conditions. This is making quite a few assumptions on critical numbers, but gives you an idea.

And to answer your second question. If you had a 13 degree launch with those same ball speeds and spin numbers, your carry would have been 283.2 yards. The key being keeping the spin numbers the same, which can be very difficult to do as you increase launch angle. Higher launch coupled with low spin always goes longer. Even on hard pan courses.
