    Request as Winter is Coming

And I plan to use my ST indoors. Last year I played in the garage but would feel terrible for a few days afterwards because of which I know now to be the mold in the garage ; ( This winter I will try and hit indoors with a 7 iron and almost golf balls.

My request is, please can you add a boost to the ST software to make up for the lost of distance using non really golf balls. I know that the unit should really only be used with real golf balls but it does read almost golf balls pretty well and really golf balls are a little out of the question in the space I have to use.

Does/will the TGC have a built in boost option ?

    Yes, it has this option.

Great !!! Have you tested it with Almost GBs ? Also do you think we'll have TGC-ST implantation before the year ???

Download the E6 software, it's free and has boost. You can play around with it RIGHT NOW.

Interested as well. I use almost golf balls presently. Not only are they safer indoors, they are about 250% quieter as well. And are really good when kids hit at my house too.
They are dimpled and will travel approx 1/3 the distance of a real ball. But at launch this is what they say on their website;" In simulator tests the almostGOLF ball has the same initial velocity, spin rate and launch angle of a traditional golf ball. It looses speed until it hits its apex, then it comes down softly and safely."

I get very similar readings on my cg2 with irons with almost golf balls. Haven't tried driver.

In the past there have been threads about Almost balls. They are close for distance for Pw and possibly 9I but as you hit longer clubs the distance is shorter with Almost balls. The LA is different and the spin is different so ball flight would be different. If you boost to correct the longer clubs the shorter ones will be boosted too much but if you had to play with these balls you could make it work. Just that it may mess up real golf when you get back to it. Hitting real balls after almost balls feels like hitting a rock, and if your ball flight was not accurate you may have developed a swing change when you are back out on the course.

There are some balls that are better for matching sim distance. This was with a GC2 so I assume any monitor that picks up spin and ball speed would be similar.

At least with TGC you can adjust wedges separate from irons and woods are separate also but you may be outside of the allowed +/- 5% for tournaments.

All good points SFR. Do you have a link to the sim golf balls you mentioned?

I do plan to take each shot hit with almost balls with a little pinch of salt results wise on the sim. I'm mainly doing it to keep some kind of swing along with hand eye during the winter months.

If you want a limited flight ball that works (reasonably) well with Skytrak, get Qolf balls. They're much harder than Almost golf balls, but they're much lighter than real golf balls. The LA, speed and spin numbers are much closer to reality than Almost golf balls, too. And they don't feel like you're hitting a marshmallow.

Yeah, I definitely have this on the radar. However, it's not as simple as adding a blanket x% boost. Some real testing needs to go into this to figure the amount of boost needed for particular ball speeds/launch angles/back spins in order for it to be accurate.
