  • Skytrak sync problem?

    My skylark was working fine. Then suddenly the software starts hanging up.. Big delays while the ball is in the air. Then it restarts then delays again. I have tried uninstalling the software and reinstalling. Seems like sync never syncs. The interface seems buggy.. I have to tap several times on the screen to go from app to settings. Works fine in direct mode. My internet is very fast so that can't be it. Also works fine with WGT. Problem points to sky golf server maybe???

    I used a capital letter on my username. And it worked. On the range at the top it says synced and the app works smooth again. Now this is odd though because I liogged on to skygolf360, clicked on my skylark swings and that locks up. shows this. The circle stops spinning and safari quits working.

      Yes. I experienced the same problem. Ipad app keeps "Waiting to sync" and the app is almost unusable. Way too slow to return results. Direct mode is fine.

        Hey All,

        One of our client's experienced this problem and here is what tech support came back with:

        1) Connect the SkyTrak unit to the app in direct mode “I’ll Register Later” (don’t even need to log in)
        2) Hard-Close the app and shut down the SkyTrak device
        3) Connect the iPad to the internet “your home internet – “wifi”
        4) Open the SkyTrak app, sign in with your user name/password, and let data sync (with the SkyTrak off)
        5) Turn on SkyTrak and Connect device in direct mode again
        6) Once this is done and it works, you should be able to set up Network Mode.

          The sync shouldn't affect the shot display. It's such a tiny amount of information going up, and it also doesn't happen until after the shots is done. The only thing I can think of is that I have seen very fast internet connection speeds yet high rate of dropping packets...but that usually results in no shot at all. Give it a go with the new v2.1 software and let me know if there is any difference. If you don't have a PC, we'll just need to wait until it's out on iOS. But really, I don't think any sync changes with the new software will affect anything like this. Have you happened t ever try it on a different network?

            My Skytrak stopped syncing as well. No hardware or network changes. Tried deleting and reinstalling Skytrak software but no joy.

              Try doing a hard reset on your skytrak. Paperclip to the bottom of the unit.

              Then re-setup your skytrak to network mode.

            I have a sync issue after upgrade to PC 2.1 version. When I connect, it seems to take 2+ minutes for the initial "Waiting to Sync" message to complete. During that time, any shots that I hit at the range will pause every 20 yards or so. Takes 30 seconds for a shot to hit the ground!

            After the "Waiting to Sync" finally finishes, everything is back to normal.

              Recently got a new skytrak unit. Using it with a new ipad air2. Subscribee to wgt. High speed internet connection so everything works well except driver distances - way short. I also have a pc. Would I be better off going to v2.1 onbmy oc and using e6 rather than wgt?

                E6 is a lot nicer then WGT. Since they have the 30 day free trial right now you got nothing to loose. I have not used the skytrak range or WGT since I installed the E6 trial. It has a nice range and chipping green as well.

              They adjusted the driver distance a little bit in 2.1. You can either check out the PC 2.1 version or wait until the 2.1 IOS is out. That should be any day. Guessing that it went to Apple to be approved the same day the PC version came out.

                Mine is acting up again. Will not sync. Synced one day but not the next. I will try the restart without the skyttrak on to see if that works

                  Mine is acting up today. Had a tough time getting to network mode, but eventually. Then I noticed the shots had a pause in mid air on the range. It all functioned but was slow with longer then normal delays, at least from the previous days. The app would show Not synced, while in use, then after I logged out of the app and logged back in, then it synced. But the dates are wrong, it showed todays session being two days ago? Odd. My home wifi is very fast and I put a extender within 5 feet of the skytrak unit. Speed is about 100 Mbps so that is not the problem. I will reset the skytrak unit and see what happens.

                      For me, yes. 2.0 sometimes failed to sync, but it would fail quickly. Now when I launch the app it seems to take forever to sync. And while its trying (with "Waiting to Sync" message), shots pause in mid-air, menus are barely responsive etc.

                      After the first sync finishes...no problems. It fast and smooth (and I have yet to see the "failed to sync" message that I saw all the time in 2.0).

                      My theory, with no evidence to back it up, is that maybe its trying to re-sync every shot when the app loads? I have hit 4000 shots total since I got the unit..is it trying to re-send those shots every time the app loads? Not sure...but the initial sync is taking about 2 minutes to complete.

                        Okay, so I just hit about 100 shots. It seemed to work very smoothly today. No pause on the flight of the shot and not much of a delay. What I still have is the not syncing issue. When I started the session it showed the green "syncing" but after one shot it went to the red" not synced" and stayed that way throught the session. When I was done, I had to "Log out" of the app and then sign back into the app and it would start syncing again. Took about 3 or 4 minutes but finally showed "synced". All the shots are in history, but they are 2 days previous of today. Just like last time. Version 2.1. iPad has correct date and time. Not sure what that is all about? Anyone have the wrong date issue?
