My skylark was working fine. Then suddenly the software starts hanging up.. Big delays while the ball is in the air. Then it restarts then delays again. I have tried uninstalling the software and reinstalling. Seems like sync never syncs. The interface seems buggy.. I have to tap several times on the screen to go from app to settings. Works fine in direct mode. My internet is very fast so that can't be it. Also works fine with WGT. Problem points to sky golf server maybe???

If you have a spare phone, use that to setup wifi hotspot and and use network mode via that.

So it looks like ST will connect to hotspot from an Android phone but not an iPhone (I think there was an old thread about this as well).

SkyTrak delay/pauses/synch failure seems to be getting worse on my unit. Anybody else getting the same thing?

Ok went to the dome. I'm home and it won't sync on network mode. Is my only choice to delete the app and reinstall again?

Short answer: YES.
I try to avoid this by using only my iPhone for direct mode sessions and only my iPad for network mode sessions. But really for $100/year customers should not have to uninstall/reinstall after every direct mode use and def shouldn't have to have 2 iOS devices in order to avoid having to uninstall/reinstall.
And Seth, is v2.2 going to solve these sync problems (and when will it be released btw)? Thanks.

So, I need to reinstall the pc app in order to fix the synch/pause/delay issues after attempting to use in direct mode a single time?
Doesn't seem to make any difference in delay whether I connect in direct mode or network mode. My unit and the connection/operation seem to be getting worse all along. What gives?

I started using my Skytrak in ONLY direct mode and the difference in how well it worked was night and day. It worked really well in cycling between shots: hit shot, display on phone, unit back to green-green-green. In network mode, even if I don't log in and it's not syncing, it's terrible. The unit gets stuck on red-green-green or red-yellow-green all the time. To make make it even worse it frequently goes from green-green-green, I'm ready to hit a shot, oops, sorry - back to red-green-green. And eventually it just stops working and I have to restart. The only issue with this direct ode solution is that I often have trouble getting the Skytrak to show up in my iPhones network settings while I'm at my house. If I'm outdoors, it shows up no problem. It's as if the Skytrak detects my network and doesn't publish itself as a network device.

Skygolf, now the PGA show has finished, will we be getting an answer as to how long before the syncing issue will be sorted.
I've had to delete & re-install twice in the last month as local syncing had stopped also, meaning loads of lost data.
Even an interim update with export to CSV would help!

Ok, before I gripe about synching I want to make sure of the correct procedure in which to connect because now I can't connect to my home network which worked at one time.
Can someone point me in the direction of the proper sequence for connecting to network? I know it was on here somewhere. Basically, what do I need to be connected to on my PC, the SkyTrak unit or my home network. Do I ever change that setting from one to the other at some point or does it remain on on either one the whole time?
I can't get into network mode at all now?

I just posted this on the other thread. I'll post here as well:
For those having issues connecting Skytrak via WiFi try the following:
1 - On your computer in your network connections/settings. Find the Skytrak device and click Forget This Device or Disconnect.
2 - Disconnect Skytrak from USB.
3 - Turn on Skytrak and open Skytrak PC app
4 - Click on Device Connections
5 - Click on Network Mode
6 - Now minimize the Skytrak PC app. Go to your WiFi list of connections and click on the one that says Skytrak.
7 - Now maximize the Skytrak PC app
8 - A screen should appear and click New Network
9 - Type in your SSID, WiFi password and select the appropriate type (WPA2, WPA, etc)
Note: Make sure you use the correct SSID. Also it wouldn't work for me on the WiFi extender of (AirPort_EXT). I had to connect directly to my wireless router as (AirPort) - Maybe the underscore is considered a special character it doesn't like.
If you don't connect you may need to type a different SSID/PW/Type. If so go to Device Connections and select Network Mode. It should prompt you with a screen again and click NEW NETWORK. Try again with different SSID/PW/Type. If it never prompts you for the New Network then go back to step 1 and Forget the Skytrak Device from your network connections and start over.
The key is to get your SSID correct and remember if you have an extender you may have same problem I did.

Ok new sync issue. I had been skirting the sync issue by strictly using my iPhone 6 for direct mode sessions on range (so it does not sync and I don't care if it syncs or not as long as it keeps my direct mode sessions in its history) and my iPad Mini 2 for network mode (and never direct mode) sessions at home (and my iPad Mini syncs all the time).
I had to use pin to reset SkyTrak unit the other day because during a direct mode session the SkyTrak wifi signal would never show up and resetting the unit fixed the problem. However now, without ever going to direct mode, my iPad Mini 2 will not sync in network mode anymore (same looping green "WAITING TO SYNC..." followed by red "NOT SYNCED") and I think this might have been caused by resetting the unit.
I really wish v2.2 will fix all these annoying syncing issues for everyone and that it gets released soon - I mean it's like 2 weeks since PGA show!

Hey SkyTrak_Seth ,
I know you have been busy with the PGA show and the after math. I can no longer check if my data sync will work because my GIP expired. I am an early adopter (Nov. 2014) whose data sync has never worked (besides a couple of weeks last Sept. 2015). Loving Skytrak though! Keep up the good work.

This getting ridiculous now!!
I can't upload any data now even after a re-install. Looking at the logs, 50% of shots haven't been backup up. This just isn't good enough considering this is what we paid for. I've sent numerous logs to Skytrak, not one reply.
Are we going to get a fix for this!! EVER!!

Guest , I see your log. Typically we use the log feature as a request-based (from our side) feature. A lot of times we get random logs with idea what they are for, so it's common to overlook them. But yours was detailed, so thanks. I'd like to see if it's possible to get your account information. I'll handle via email.
