Ernie, did you get your unit? Impressions? I have a Net Return net and side barriers being delivered today, phase one on my path to create a space in my basement where I can practice (I'm a beginner). A launch monitor will be next if my space proves adequate for me to swing most, if not all, my clubs. Full-on simulation would be after that, but it's not clear to me what options will exist in that direction for ST, and what the cost will be - I don't favor a subscription model, and may go in a different direction if an outright software purchase at any kind of sensible price proves unavailable.

love it ..so far so good, all clubs are at distances id expected them to be at.Originally posted by GmanJeff View PostSounds good! I'll be very interested in your impressions and how you are using it.
wish you would of told me you were getting the net return could of saved you 300 $ and get a rukket with their return system. just as good if not better for more than half the price

I actually have a triangular-shape Rukket net which I bought before I appreciated how easy it would be to miss the net entirely. I'm getting better, but have already had to patch and paint a large # of golf-ball holes in the walls and ceiling of the room it was set up in; that triangular shape makes the net easy to collapse and store, but really requires a certain degree of ball-striking precision which I am only now beginning to acquire. Even going from real golf balls to Almost Golf balls didn't save the walls - I can dent the walls with the Almost Golf balls, too, just not quite as dramatically! The relatively square shape of the Net Return with the side nets ought (fingers crossed!) help keep the balls from going where they shouldn't. I also was able to break through the Rukket netting, both layers, with a real golf ball. Their customer service suggested I use cable ties to repair the torn area, which I did, but it did make me wonder about the net's ultimate durability
Glad to hear the unit is working well. It certainly seems a good choice among launch monitors as such, although it seems the jury is still out as to its competitive position supporting eventual full-on simulation.Last edited by GmanJeff; 12-03-2015, 08:01 PM.

A little late finding this thread, but I'm across the river in Middletown MD. Got my Skytrak last week and really like it so far. I don't have any frame of reference, but distances and shot shape very closely match what I see on the range. I'm just using the device for practice and ranging. No sim setup.
