Clubhead Speed Accuracy?

I've now used my SkyTrak daily since its arrival a couple of weeks ago and I love it!
However I have to question the accuracy of the clubhead speed measurement as the lower range does not correspond to the measured ball speed, i.e. occasionally it gives me a measure which is c.-15mph down on the average but with no corresponding reduction in ball speed or carry distance.

Does this happen to you?
Is there an inaccuracy in Skytrak's ability to measure this reliably?

skytrak does not measure clubhead speed. It just calculates it from your ball speed. So using different balls will effect your ballspeed and with clubhead speed calculated from ball speed it will also effect your clubhead speed. means hitting with the same clubhead speed on skytrak with different balls skytrak will show different clubhead speeds. Make sense ?

Thanks Sascha, I understand your logic but if this is the case then maybe clubhead speed shouldn't be displayed as actually it isn't accurate or meaningful?

This is how the simulator world works. Unless you have a 20g hardware that measures it all a lot will be calculated. Look at the cheaper ones which only "look" at the clubhead. They measure clubhead speed and angle but calculate ballspeed, spin, launch angle.... from that. That's why ST in my opinion is a lot better. It's looking at the ball.

I am curious how it is calculated as well. The "Smash Factor" does change from swing to swing on all clubs. I have put some of the figures into an excel sheet to see if there is any rhyme or reason to it. In the end I think ball speed is a better # because it tells you how effectively you are using your swing speed. I am figuring that my swing speed is off by 7-10 MPH from what ST reports with the driver.
