Hi all, I was talking to a physical friend of mine about the Sytrak features. I specify he directs a golf academy/swing analysis laboratory. He currently works with GC2/Flightscope and other complex systems like the K vest- tpi 3d, the Gasp-system, the K-trainer.
I told I was about to buy a Skytrak. He answered this way: " Unfortunately there are no details on the technology used by Skytrak, just a hint on their site of a photometric (?) Launch monitor. However themselves provide two data confirming the limit of all these low cost systems that we have already discussed, that the poor reliability of the reading when the shot is not perfect. I mean the side angle, where accuracy is +/- 2 °, and to the side spin, +/- 250 rpm. This means that a shot that for example part to the right of the target of 2 ° can be presented on the screen as well (2 ° -2 ° = 0 °) or from 4 ° to the right (2 ° + 2 ° = 4 °). But most incredible is the admitted error on side spin. The curve that makes the ball to the right or left (hook, slice) depends on the side spin. Considers that a side spin of 500 rpm is sufficient to give the ball a slice or hook very pronounced: the fact that the instrument can read 250 or 750 means that you will never know what the true parable that would have had your shot. For comparison, the percentage error of the spin side of the GC2 is equal to 0.5%, then 2.5 rpm more or less the same condition".
So what do you Skytrak owner think about this analysis?
