  • Network issue

Ok, I bought the Skytrak. It has been very good in direct mode but I can't seem to get to network mode. I know there are numerous topics on it but I can't seem to find my particular problem. I can connect to the router, second line turns solid yellow but it will not move on from there. Anyone know what causes this? I have a bottom green line, second line is solid yellow and top line is red. Thanks.

    John,

From what you are describing, I'm guessing maybe you have a dual-band router at home? After you program the unit to connect to the network (which, when successful, looks like red/yellow/green - so that's good!), you need to make sure that the iPad connects to that same network. A lot of people don't realize that the iPad may have automatically re-connected to a different network, usually the other of the pair in the case of dual-band, but sometimes a completely different network.

I have checked that and it was connected to the same network. Are there any other explanations you can think of?
BTW this is a shot of my temporary set up. I plan to get a new mat and secure things when i have the bugs worked out. I have to say that the accuracy of the model has exceeded my expectations. Click image for larger version

Hey John, what kind of screen and netting are you using? Looks like something I saw on the Par2Pro's website that was like $1200 which seems really steep.

It is from my original p3proswing. I bought it second hand so it was pretty reasonable. My only complaint is that it is pretty loud on impact.

      John,

Is your network password protected? I was having issues too initially and if I remember correctly it was because my wifi password had special characters in it... !,$,@ and so on. The Skytrak doesn't like special characters in your password. This could have been fixed in the months since I was having that issue and I could be way off, but just something to try.

Hmmm, another thing is how long your network SSID is. Try keeping it under 11 characters. Not saying that's it, just a thought.

        (Nice setup!)

Success, after much fiddling, resetting etc, I have finally connected. I re installed both the skytak and wgt app and that seemed to do it.

Well, we'll leave it at that and call it a day Glad you are up and running!

So I have a dual band Comcast/xfinity router. In seeing some of the posts regarding ssid, has anyone been successful in changing your ssid name without caking Comcast? I have gone into the router settings l, changed it, saved it, and still has not changed. Right now network mode is a straight no go for me. I'm assuming until I can change the ssid I am not able to use in network mode?

Got ST to connect in network mode, but it is intermittent. I played a session in network mode with 4 different clubs to gauge distance and consistency, which was not bad. Is that information not available to me after ending the session? Seems no syncing is actually happening. I'm sure this has been asked before....just not very tech savvy

My connection has continued to be intermittent. The Skytrak always connects to the network with the middle line being solid yellow but it won't always connect to the app, the lines won't turn green. I am at a loss trying to figure out the variables that cause this. I would think if it was poor wifi that the yellow line would never turn solid indicating that it has connected to the network. I can't figure out why it won't always connect to the app?

I think that a solid yellow middle light means it has not connected to the network. In network mode the middle light will blink yellow as it attempts to connect to the network and get an IP address. Once the connection to the wireless network has been established the middle light turns solid green. If the middle light returns to solid yellow it means that the device isn't connected to anything.

I have a dual band router. very often pc or ST connects to the "wrong" frequency. Turning on and off the wifi on my pc works after a couple of reconnections.
                    Solid yellow goes green.
Flashing yellow ST rching for network
Solid yellow St connected to known network
solid green St connected to pc/ipad with network.
