First off, very pleased with the amount time it took to get the unit. Helped where I am located, but was able to get it within 3 business days.
Had no issues getting it to work. Easily set it up with my network and worked quicker than expected. So far, very pleased.
Here is where I am looking for some advice. I am hitting in my garage. I have a net setup (one of those units you can buy at the store). I am very leery hitting real balls into it with fears of hitting an off shot that could damage a wall, break a window, etc. so I was hitting the foam balls. The Skytrak picked up those balls, but I am sure the numbers were not correct. I hit both on the range and I also started to play WGT.
Let me preface this by saying I wanted to see if the unit worked before considering taking my setup to the next level.
After an hour, it started to get boring. I could not hit driver and only played par 3's. I am afraid if I keep the current setup I will not use the unit as much as I should and will not get the type of practice out of it as I should. So, I am now debating building a portable sim room. My garage is plenty big and organized (no clutter in the way), but I need to be able to have a setup that is easily taken down/setup and can be stored out of the way when not in use. I could build something that would fit on one side of the garage so the wife can park her car on the other side without me having to take down the sim room. I have done some research online and see some outfits that can design and build something for me, but its not cheap. Also, have seen many examples of what others have built. I am very handy so I could build something if needed, but would be nice if I had someone with experience who could help me come up with something that could fold together, etc.
I already have $2 grand in this unit. I understand this is not a cheap "toy", but I also do not want to break the bank on building a sim room, projector, etc. I do not have a room in the house I can build a permanent room so I am regulated to building something that will work in the garage or could possibly transport to a buddy's house.
Anyone have any thoughts, opinions, advice, etc would be greatly appreciated.
