WHAT DESKTOP OR LAPTOP WORKS WITH TGC AND SKYTRAK???

I have tried my alienware x51 from 2012 and runs slow with the steam version of TGC, Need to know what will work if I want to get TGC with skytrak. Please post what you use and if it runs at the highest settings without lag.

If it won't run steam it won't run the sim version. They are the same software except the sim uses clubs instead of a mouse.

If you are going to get a desktop PC, I think the current sweet-spot GPU for price/performance is Nvidia 970. I have this GPU with a 5+ year old intel Core i7-860 CPU and The Golf Club runs fine at 1920x1200, high settings, AA/AF etc.

CPU and RAM make very little difference, its all about the GPU. A core i3 would be fine. RAM is pretty cheap, 8GB is enough.

Is this overkill? It has GTX 970 w/ 3GB

Its a good laptop that will run TGC with no problems. I run TGC on my macbook pro which has a much weaker GPU. I also have a desktop PC with a GTX 970 gpu and it runs it on high settings at 60fps. I am not sure how the mobile 970 compares to the desktop version, I suspect the mobile is a little slower, but should be fine.

Desktop is not the same as laptop. Laptop probably has the 970m which is much slower than the desktop version.

If I have a portable set up for outside on my deck, will the sky trak work? Or is it too much light outside? I am just thinking on days in the spring/summer when I don't have time for a round of real golf..just play a quick round at home??
