  • TGC SkyTrak Freeze

    I also experience Skytrak freezing up and have not been able to fix it by changing club selection. When I minimize TGC and click on the Interface I get Failed to Initialize error. I have to reboot my computer before I can connect it back to the interface.

    Above you mentioned playing in Window mode. I would recommend not playing in Window Mode and if you need to minimize TGC, just click on ALT TAB. That will change TGC to Window Mode and then you can access the interface.

    Here's one big problem and hope it is being worked on to resolve:
    If I have multiple people playing TGC, when the Skytrak freezes up and I have to Exit the game. When I go back into TGC and click Continue Game, it will take me to where I was at last in the game. But all the additional players are wiped out. This is not good!

    Is there a way to add the players back in a current game?

    If not, this is a HUGE issue, because that means we have to start the round all over again. And if I can't finish a round without it freezing up I'll never be able to finish a round with multiple players! Hope this is being worked ASAP.

    I had this happen twice on Saturday. I then read about changing clubs to reconnect the ST, but if this doesn't work as Mike80 suggests, then you MUST be able to re-establish the connection from within the software.

    When E6 did this, I would just go to the menu and then back to the game and it reset. This didn't work in TGC. I play without window mode, so I use Alt-enter to enter window mode, then minimize TGC to reach the TGC/ST interface, but still can't reconnect within that interface. I had to close and restart. I never even thought of wiping out guest players...that would be quite embarrassing for sure.

      Ugh, I hate hearing that. I am having friends over this weekend for local multi player. But I have already asked for the saving of local guest accounts to be added in the future. For those of us with families, this is a must have thing.

        Why would you reboot the computer? You should always be able to stop the SkyTrak interface app and restart it. Connect to SkyTrak and off you go.

          That is when the "Failed to initialize Skytrak" error occurs. Only thing to do then is to reboot.

          My TGC freezes after every 3rd shot or so. I hit alt-tab to try to reconnect, but the TGC gives an error message and I have to restart my computer. I haven't been able to play even 3 holes in a row yet. Very frustrating. I bought a really expensive computer with the right specs and paid $1000 for the software and now I can't even use it... HELP!!!

        Happening to me as well. One thing I noticed: if I change clubs quickly (hit z or x repeatedly to cycle through several clubs it will lock up. It seems to happen less frequently if I cycle through the clubs more slowly.

          I've had exact same issues, can live with it while playing on my own but was playing 9 hole par 3 at magnolia national with my brother in law having a blast, 6 holes down then skytrak froze up, minimised TGC window and reconnected the skytrak to no avail. Had to re start the game then tried to continue but he had been kicked out. Bit of a let down when playing with friends.

          Any Chance it could be caused by Internet dropping out when computer is connected to the wifi ?

          Hope there is a fix, game is great fun

            bama_jay - did you make sure that the app is no longer running in the system tray before you restarted the app? It can not initialize the SkyTrak twice.

              ProTee United - yes, it was closed out. Most of the time I can just restart the interface, but occasional will get the error that Skytrak failed to initialize and you're dead.

              Is anybody having this issue in the Skytrak range , I've only used it briefly since I got TGC I might try it out for longer and see if it happens.

              Perhaps it has something to do with the new update to the skytrak software , I know the unit takes longer to register to be ready for next shot than it did before.

                In the new app, we did change the timing of when the unit is "ready" to hit another shot. I think some wires got crossed on the integration front regarding that, but we have identified the issue and will push a fix as soon as humanly possible. Thanks for your patience all.

                  SkyTrak_Seth I don't know if it's relevant to the Skytrak freeze I was getting but I was playing TGC connected via USB and the PC connected to Wifi when I was having the problems. I ran a 75m Ethernet cable to the garage and since the computer has been connected to that for the last 5 days I've had no issues with having to reboot or re start the device or program.
