I have been getting many more No Reads since the latest update. Both in SkyTrak and TGC. This means the shot registers (R-G-G), waits a few seconds, then goes back to G-G-G and the laser dot shows.
Skytrak connection problems since lastest update...

I posted two weeks ago about the same issue. The only thing that made it better was resetting my unit back to factory and reconnecting with a fresh install of the Skytrak program for PC. This worked at first, but it has come back again. I have to admit I have not been using the unit much due to the weather getting better so it is disheartening that the problem has returned with such little use.
In my case, all of the no reads and 1/2 reads started after the 2.3 app was released and 1.5 was installed on the unit. Yesterday I was tinkering with my swing while watching the masters and the unit disconnecting issue popped up. I tried different new usb cables to check that it wasn't a bad cable and they did not solve the issue.
If we get a stable build I will definitely be weary of updating the unit ever again. Having worked on much larger and more complex IT and system integration projects I am speechless to how poor sky-golfs QC is. There QC control would not seem so bad if we could downgrade the firmware. My guess is they are worried that one of the older versions has a vulnerability that could be exploited so that we don't need the GIP feature. Keeping their recurring revenue stream protected is understandable, but if this continues their market will be for only those that can't afford a GC2 and are willing to deal with sky-golfs antics.

I am so disappointed. I just received my new SkyTrak unit and I have spent almost all of my time waiting for it to connect to my iPad or PC. The app just says “PLEASE WAIT” while it continually checks for license files and lights are Red Green Green (top to bottom).
I don’t see any other option except to return it. It’s not like wifi technology is something new. Firmware 1.5, software 2.3.

JDW , since you are the OP and also appear to have access to a PC, could I hop on and do a remote assist today? Obviously, this is a super-critical issue and we have no idea why it is happening. I'd like to try and find out more behind the scenes as we are unable to reproduce it here. Please send me a PM asap with your contact number and/or email address.
EDIT - scratch that. OP does not have access to a PC. Is there anyone here who has the problem of the unit randomly disconnecting mid-session that can reproduce it regularly and has access to a PC with internet? If so, please PM me and I will do a remote assist to see if I can figure out what is going on.

SkyTrak_Seth Seth - Thank you for the response. I think we all really appreciate you coming onto the forums and helping us out. I would be happy to setup a remote session and have you watch. I am on the west coast so that might be a time zone issue because of work hours, but I can be flexible.
I saw on another thread you asked 3 questions. Here are the answers to those questions. I hope this helps.
1. Unit has never been struck
2. Not using the case
3. My golf balls are just my retired bag balls. Typically PRO V1x that have been used for 2-3 rounds before I retire them. I do have a few older balls that I find on the course, but when playing TGC or I need consistency I use the same make and model of ball.

SkyTrak_Seth Just wanted to say that I put the unit into wifi mode last night and I had no misreads or disconnects. All of my shots registered without an issue. It must have something to do with the usb connection. I haven't used wifi since the app was ipad only.

Hi All,
Just checking in to see if any issues persist with either unit connection or shot capture since upgrading to v2.4 for PC? (Sorry Apple still hasn't reviewed yet, hopefully soon!)

Hi SkyTrak_Seth is the v2.4 supposed to help / fix with the missed shots when connected via USB ?

After upgrading, the program asked me to log back in, but did not recognize my username and/or password. I was able to log in to my Skygolf 360 account separately, outside the SkyTrak range program, returned to the SkyTrak range program, and then was able to successfully enter my user name and password. It's working fine now but it might be helpful in future updates to warn users that they will havew to log back in and, if expected, that they may have to first log in through their SkyGolf 360 account outside the SkyTrak range range program. That would save a bit of user frustration and probably some calls to tech support.
Nothing has changed with regard to USB connection peculiarities - I can always connect via wi-fi, but with USB sometimes have to switch ports before the device is recognized.
With regard to shot capture, I still experience occasional no-reads, but can't see any particular pattern. It happens relatively infrequently; maybe 5% of my shots?

Whenever you download an update, you will need to log in again. The issue is that the first time you log in, we need to validate your account against your account up in the cloud (skygolf360). In order to do this, your app needs to be connected to the internet the first time you try to log in. After that, you don't need an internet connection to log in. We've actually improved this feature as well as some users were having issues.
The USB port thing is just an issue with your computer's drivers not recognizing on certain ports. I have it happen with other devices too (even flash drives).
