I do the same thing with the tape. Putting works great for like 3 or 4 feet left or right in tgc, anything further kinda just reads the max it is able to. This is why for real big breaking putts I'll have to aim the actual screen more so, assuming this is similar for other users as well since the skytrak's camera field of view can only see so much. But this is one of the things that made me love tgc, the putting felt pretty realistic as much as a simulator could.
I've still been debating picking up pg or not at some point, but that putting part would probably have to be fixed for me to get real interested
My Skytrak picks up putt direction very well. I have a simulated cup taped off on the ground that I aim at and if I'm left or right of it a tad then the numbers in TGC confirm with a "Left 1 degree" or "Right 1 degree", etc.
What about putting with Perfect Golf? My putt direction is very good with WGT....but not with Perfect Golf
This particular forum suppose to be for Perfect Golf...and I asked if anybody face problems with putting like me. I have seen few answers saying that putting is working well with "TGC".
During Beta all of the Skytrak testers complained that the skytrak was way to inaccurate with short putts and that the horizontal direction errors made it impossible to putt. So we put in a damper to temper the effect of horizontal misses as a direct request of the beta testers. If concensus is this should be removed we are happy to remove it. Let us know.... Andrew

No... I was responding to FaultyClubs saying that the Skytrak in general can't read putt direction correctly. I haven't found that to be the case at all. I don't have PG so I can't compare how it reads horrizontal direction in that software but I don't see how it could be any different than TGC. Both softwares just take what the Skytrak is telling them and then apply it to the putt. Sounds to me like there were some people who think they're Steve Stricker and never miss putts in real life. Therefore they advised PG to make all putts read as straight.
I never commented on TGC's putting, only the Skytrak's raw data. All you guys responding seem to have missed that part.
The TGC app is massaging the data trying to produce something reasonable. If they truly passed through the actual Skytrak data you wouldn't be so happy.
PG will be doing the same although it sounds like they have gone further and forced all puts to be straight. I'm guessing that extra part can be turned off though and am still waiting for Johan to respond on that point.
All putts on JNPG with skytrak are certainly not forced to be straight. The issue is only with very short putts on fast greens stimp 9 and above with the device causing some bad readings. I'm talking about 5 foot putts that are hit 5 feet and straight over a cup that miss a foot or more to the right, etc. This isn't a problem with TGC because you don't hit 5 foot putts truly 5 feet since the stimp is at 6 and gimmes are set to six feet anyway.
Putts are misread. The data that comes from the Skytrak shows putts that miss farther and farther to the right at slower speeds. This isn't a JNPG problem, it's a skytrak device problem.
The alignment option turns on the alignment mode just like in Skytrak app.

Hi,
Thank you to all for taking interest on this issue...I'm responding late because I'm located in Middle East.
I am attaching here some photos and videos for reference.
SkyTrak leveling: ok
SkyTrak alignment: ok
One of the photos shows me aiming to left about 20 degrees. the putting distance was 20ft and the hole was down about 4in.
The video (link to youtube) shows the ball starting straight and then going to right since there was inclination to right side: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_lO...ature=youtu.be
johan14 thanks for pointing this out. You have definitely found a bug and I have confirmed as well. This has not been the behavior that has existed in previous builds. Nice find and will be straightened out, pun intended.

Thanks...hope you can do something with the developers to get it resolved.
I had an issue after this latest update where the skytrak says it's connected, the green lights go on and I arm the unit. I hit the ball but nothing happens in the perfect golf simulation. The background screen says a shot was registered and information was sent to perfect golf but nothing moves on the screen. It was working prior to an update that just happened. Any thoughts. Under game settings it says skytrak and right under that is says none for connection type.
