Skytrak - TGC short bunker shot spin issues

There may be another issue tied to the short shot spin issue from the other thread.

I just noticed something during my last round. I had three bunker shots less than 10 yards from the pin and all three had the exact same spin 1999 and no side spin or side deviation. It was very late and i was gone this weekend so i'm going to try to see if i can replicate it this week.

Has anyone else seen this? I tried searching, but didn't see this brought up out of a bunker.

I'm assuming this was not in putting mode since I believe lob wedge was automatically shown.

That doesn't matter. On my setup it switches to putting mode all the time when a wedge is shown.

Putting mode removes back spin. Why would you chip in putting mode?

Doesn't putting mode remove the additional/fixed backspin that's controlled by TGC? For example, a chip shot with a 3000 (GC2-generated) backspin out of the bunker would create a (TGC-generated) 1999 backspin out of the bunker if no putting mode was selected. If putting mode was enabled (which eliminated the "controlled" backspin from bunker), it would use the actual GC2-generated backspin of 3000. This is based strictly on reading posts on this site regarding the issue - haven't actually tested this.

I get the same thing, 900 spin is the mark for out of bunkers that I would get every time after doing all my testing a little while back. It happens no matter what mode the game puts you in automatically, if you switch it to putting mode manually (if you are automatically put in normal mode) it would give 0 spin and I don't even think it let me change to normal mode from that close if it automatically put me in putting mode, but can't remember for sure or or not on that.

Haven't seen that 1999 spin thing before, I'll keep an eye out for that

In skytrak it doesn't remove spin being in putting mode, it all depends on what the game automatically puts you in when you get near the green. Maybe this is what protee was referring to as a hardware limitation when they said they were adding the toggle fix for skytrak.

Basically there must be some mark of distance where the skytrak reads everything better in putting mode, so it puts you in that automatically when close to the green and then we get spin, but it's always 1000 (from grass) or 900 (in bunkers). The weird thing is, if it puts you in normal mode automatically and then you switch to putting mode, then we get 0 back spin for whatever reason

Also, ps.. I know a fix is coming soon but if anyone was wondering, 20 yards seems to be the mark where skytrak users will be able to get the normal spin amount, anything under that number we get the 1000 spin glitch

I noticed the same about 20 yards. Helps a little to know at least when you're planning your shot.

I get the feeling its happening for him too but he seems to be a real strong player and is probably getting used to the run out and adjusting as such as I am able to do well sometimes. But don't want to speak for him, it just seems to be a universal thing based on all the videos ive seen on youtube and many peoples comments here.

I do get the occasional 1000 spin bug. Not all the time though. I think launch angle seems to possibly have some effect on it. I many times will hit more of a flop or higher pitch shot and fly it closer to the hole rather than a true chip therefore I don't seem to see it that often. Maybe that's why? It does happen from time to time though.

Yeah I can play the no spin shot if I have a little green to work with. If you short side yourself in a bunker forget it. You have to hit it hard enough to get out of the bunker and your ball is going to fly across the green.

Interesting, if you get a chance, take a peak when you get anywhere inside 20 yards and check the spin real quick after you hit your shot. Im curious about your situation with the lofted shots, ive tried flop shots and it always does the 1000 spin thing inside 20 yards no matter how high I hit it, outside 20 yards it works perfectly.
