How to get exact alignment

CCE mat.
Skytrak sits on the concrete floor, inside the skytrak protective case, which allows you to level it with the mat. I used to set it directly on the mat, but found that my mat moves too much and I was always having to re-measure the alignment. Now I got it all level with the laser, and marked the spot on the concrete where the skytrak needs to sit to be in line with the projector and screen.

It comes with a clamp so you can attack to a chair or ladder. Moved it about 5 feet behind the skytrak, and the laser level has enough angle to get the skytrak laser dots on the floor, all the way up to the projector on the ceiling.

Thank you Shardak!!! looks just like my setup. Does that laser help level the actual skytrak unit with the height of the CCE. Like can it shoot a horizontal line off the mat so you can make sure its even with the skytrak?

The laser does have a toggle for horizontal, vertical or both...but I dont think the horizontal would help with the alignment of skytrak height to mat height. I just eyeballed the height of the skytrak case.
I think as long as skytrak is picking up shots, the height is fine...height doesnt affect the measured data, just the field of view of the camera (may be wrong on that).

Ingenious idea! I just went to Home Depot and purchased one...price went up a bit to $79, but I think it will be well worth it knowing I am hitting down the correct line!

If you paid that much for it at Home Depot you might want to take it back. Thats the price for the GL30 not the GLII. I tried to get one at HD and they had both in stock for the $79 price....... ordered the GLII from Amazon @ $58....... I am soooooo cheap !!

LOL! All they had at my Home Depot was the GL30, I even went back to see if I missed the GLII, but there wasn't even a space for them. Oh well, I wouldn't have waited for delivery, I get impatient at times, and I really wanted to try out this idea. I'll tell you what, it works great!! My SkyTrak alignment lasers do show the path I need to hit (some have said they have to hit a little right of the lasers). I do what you said, and put the laser across the dots, and with alignment rods on either side, I have all the visuals I need to ensure I am hitting down line.
