    New dude

    Hello everyone,

Purchased a skytrak about 3 weeks ago and so far each day with it is better and better. Have the WGT course for now and hopefully next month be able to purchase a PC to run the TGC software (would love to play in tournements) - have a decent laptop LG Core i5 and is great for streaming videos, email, etc but not for gaming.

    My setup is a follows
    Skytrak system
Pro golf packed from net return -
    5 x 10 gorilla perfect hitting mat from dura-pro
    Ipad Pro 9.7 inch
    45 inch TV

Use the mat that came with the net for a putting green and use the dura-pro mat for hitting on - great mat. I used the mat that shipped with the net at first but it really hurt my wrists and made a lot noise against the wooded floors. The dura-pro mat is like walking on real grass. You can use real tees with it.

Hope to have a projector and screen by winter time but for now the setup is fine - have used it just about every day. For those of you who are new - no matter what you think your swing will be different inside - at least for a while. I am now getting close to the distance and hitting the ball about the same when outside. The first week distance was down over 30 yards and a lot pulls and slices.

Will post of picture of setup soon. This forum is great - too bad after I found it after I had all setup - but I think I made good choices - feedback is always welcome

    awesome dude!

I have a skytrak/net return setup as well. I use a i5/gtx 970 desktop to run TGC and my iphone for Skytrak app inside of a home theater setup. I have had it about 6 months and have been using the net return turf on top of a carpeted floor. Over the last month my wrists and and R elbow have started to bother me quite a bit. I am thinking its the turf since I'm not a complete hack and certainly don't use it near as much as the heavy users on this forum. I also think the net return turf is not very durable. I keep having to move the hitting location because I get a small curve or bubble in the spot I am hitting from.

How do you compare the dura-pro vs the net return? I am also think of CCE or perhaps considering a divot-action insert into the net return. Need my elbows and wrists to last for a while

Hey BirdiBall - the dura-pro almost 3 times thicker than the net return mat. Also, when you walk on it - it feels like walking on real grass. It as divot action like characteristics as well. If I had to do it again I would have gotten a smaller one, but that how it goes. So the dura-pro I have a 8.5 and the net return mat about a 4. It is great for a putting green however.

I have WGT now and I do no think it is bad - have you ever used WGT - how much better would you say TGC is? It looks great and really like the idea of tournements and multiplayer.

No comparison between WGT and TGC. I did have WGT before but don't ever plan on playing it again.
Tgc has awesome graphics and 90k+ courses. It's gold standard for home sim software IMO. If you can swing the cost of purchase and a good gtx970+ desktop then you will not be disappointed.

Which dura-pro version did you get? The choices make it so confusing. Style A-F

I went with the F style since it allows using real tees into the mat. It was about $700 Thanks for the confirm of the WGC vs TGC software. already have a PC desktop picked out - will have to wait to next month since I just purchased the skytrak and matts last month. I still think WGT is still a good option for those who need something for a month or two to save up for a pc and the software. I posted 3 pictures. First one net return mat turned into a one hole putting green, the 2nd photo is the duro-pro mat - looks like real grass. and the 3rd is a picture of the room. Hope to add a full length single green mat, a projector, and screen by jan of 2017 - but for now it works.

I would highly recommend moving that TV fyi. I know it doesn't seem possible to hit it, but having had a sim for a bit now and having some people over, I've seem some very strange things happen. People don't loosen up and hit all kinds of crazy shots, especially inside for some reason - probably for fear of trying not to. All it takes is one stray tee or ball and gone... Just my 2 cents.

The pics really helped. I just pulled the trigger on the 5x5 version of this same gorilla mat. Excited for the softer feel. I have to use it on top of the net return one since I don't have 10ft width to stretch out the larger one like you do. Alternatively, might consider just cutting the net return one

I just got the 5x5 of F style and have only really hit chips into my net return. It feels so much better than the net return turf. My hands are very happy. Now I just need to get my Skytrak back from repairs and I can really put the mat to the test.

Yep, the 5 by 5 will work very nice. You will love the mat. Once I get TGC next month perhaps we can hit a round.

            Hi,
I am using NetReturn in combination with 4'x5' Real Feel Mat from CCE. Happy with the selection and the mat feels like a real grass.

I like the Net Return NET - it was really easy to put together. The CCE mat looks just like the dura-pro mat I have. I am thinking they are the same. I agree, really great mat. So, far happy with the skytrak - looked at flightscope as well.

Are you going to get Flightscope as well? Anything else that you can not get with SkyTrak?

The flightscope I would want would be over 10,000 so the golf software, computer, projector and screen are first on the list. So far I am very pleased with the skytrak device
              Working...
