I recently purchased the Sky Trak and was able to immediately connect it to my iPad. After a couple of tries I was able to get the Sky Trak "connected" to my home network...however I have not been able to get it connected past the solid yellow stage. The Sky Trak would blink red, then red/yellow, then yellow and then go solid yellow but would get stuck at that stage. I have restarted the app, the iPad and the SkyTrak with the same results. Any recommendations?

Connecting Skytrak to Home Network

I have had a lot of luck with giving static ip address to my home network devices. For example, my tivio would loose internet access every few days until I gave it a static IP address. For some reason the DHCP function on my router just does not give them out anymore until I reboot the router.
You can also try from your PC can you ping the skytrak Perhaps it even picked up a bad ip address from a neighbor's router. Hope this helps.

Thanks for posting the new topic - it just helps people down the road when searching for solutions. So it sounds like you got your unit successfully connected to your home network. The problem now is that it cannot connect to the software. A couple things to try:
1) Can you verify that your iPad is now connected to the same hone network that you just programmed to the unit (very important in case you have 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks)
2) Can you confirm that the network you are connecting to is NOT a guest network? They will not let a device (your unit) talk to another device (your iPad) over the network. This is more of a problem at retail and pro shops.
If the above are met, try hard-closing the app. Turn the unit on. When the unit is solid yellow middle light, open the app while connected to that same network. It should connect after about 5-10 seconds.

This is more of a problem at retail and pro shops. The only way I got to the yellow was to use the "guest" sign on so I assume that is why I got stuck at yellow. When I saw your response I tried to connect with the 5Ghz and 2.4GHz and all I got was a flashing red, then a solid red. I changed the password so there wasn't any special characters but I just can't get it to connect. I have tried everything I can think of...resetting the SkyTrak, redownloading the app, opening the app first, opening the SkyTrak first and nothing seems to help?!?!Originally posted by SkyTrak View Post

I also paid for the Play and Improve Package but can't seem to get that to download? Am I correct in assuming that will happen when I connect the SkyTrak to the internet?
Thanks!!

Ok, good. At least we are getting somewhere
I assume you are using WPA2 encryption...if that's the case and you already removed special characters from the password, you could try changing the SSID to something else? (as I'm assuming it has spaces and such with the 2.4 and 5G in the name) If that doesn't do it, maybe you could PM me your SSID and password and I'll let you know if I see anything fishy.
One thing to point out here is that in testing, we actually do allow special characters but certain combinations fail. The number of possible combinations is virtually infinite, so at this point it's easier to recommend not using them.

Cubsmjy and Skytrak
I am having the same issue. I only get the same flashing red/solid red, and then a timeout notice. My home network is not a guest network, and currently works for all of my other devices. Direct Mode works with no problems, but I have yet been able to get WGT going!
My setup/troubleshooting has covered the following thus far:
-Network name is only lowercase letters
-Password is also only lowercase letters
-App has been re-downloaded
-SkyTrak has been reset
-IP address has been changed to a 192 configuration
Did you ever get your unit to connect to your network?

I finally was able to get my skytrak to connect. I reset my router back to factory settings, then simplified the name and passwords, used on 2.4GHz (I have a dual and didn't realize until tonight that you couldn't use 5GHz), make sure you use the WPA2 security setting and it finally connected.
Now my issue is getting my upgraded "Game Improvement" package to be associated with my account. That will be my focus for this weekend?!?!
Thanks to Seth for all of his support...it really was appreciated!!

Try setting your network wireless to automatically connect, then connect manually to skytrak wireless with the skytrak app open, then go for the network connection in the app (leaving skytrak connected via its wireless), enter the network signin via the app...as the app puts the signin into skytrak's memory and the timer is counting down, the wireless will automatically change to the default (connect automatically) network. I did the above today and all worked out perfectly...brought up each of skytrak, TGC, JNPG and e6. Also consider...don't have blank spaces in your network name or password...I had to rename my broadcast ids to netgear2, netgear5. The Netgear app is mywifi something...very helpful.
