I've seen a few threads, though nothing too recent. When using a USB cable to my PC in direct connection mode, I am seeing a large number of mis-reads or shots that are unrecognized. Due to the spotty nature of wifi in the sim room, I would very much like to use a direct USB cable, if possible. Is there a fix/update since 2.4.x that addresses the issue or some other workaround that has been identified?

I have read that thread, jrz, as that thread states, the recommended approach is to use the wifi connection, as Skytrak hasn't (at that time), posted a fix. As I stated in my original post, that doesn't really work for me as the room I am in is so far from the wifi router the signal is spotty. I believe (unless I haven't read that thread properly), that there is still an outstanding issue with the USB connection. My query is to see if there's a known fix or a patch coming to resolve the USB connection issue.

you may know this or maybe not. But you can purchase an repeater to extent the wifi signal to where you are. Under 100 bucks I believe. I know this doe not answer your question directly but it is a work around.Originally posted by Bryndom View PostI have read that thread, jrz, as that thread states, the recommended approach is to use the wifi connection, as Skytrak hasn't (at that time), posted a fix. Yes, I have a repeater upstairs already, but the sim room is on the other side of the house. Due to the architecture, it's where I had to put the repeater. I've got a hard wired internet connection to the sim room, contemplating putting another wireless router for just that room. That's my GOTH plan, but hopefully won't need it.

Are you guys saying that you experience this 'misread' in the SkyTrak app too when using USB, or only in TGC?
Also, my personal ideal setup is a wired (ethernet) connection for internet and then direct Wi-Fi connection to the unit. If you are using TGC you likely have a desktop, so just buy a $10 USB WiFi adapter and you are good to go.

Got your PM - looks like this is TGC only. So you hit a shot and top light goes red and stays red? Just curious, what version firmware is your unit? You can tell in the SkyTrak app by going to Profile>ABOUT

Out of curiosity, would Skytrak be able to use a micro USB -> ethernet adapter? Something like https://www.amazon.com/Plugable-Micr...dp/B00RM3KXAU?

Did not end up trying micro to Ethernet jack, but in the interest of public help, since the room is wired with Ethernet, I added another wifi router to the room just for the sim room. Computer has direct connection to router and Skytrak has wifi connection.

New SkyTrak owner here. Got my unit last week in the UK.
I've had several issues with unrecognised shots.
I'm connecting directly by USB to a Windows 10 PC (more reliable than WiFi).
I have carefully checked the setup. Camera window is clean, unit is level (I have the case with spirit level) and same height as ball.
This afternoon I wanted to hit 20 shots with PW. SkyTrak was missing over 50% of the shots.
I then switched to a 52 deg wedge and SkyTrak did not miss a single shot out of 20.
The PW is a Mizuno MP-69 which is shiny. The 52 degree wedge is a Titleist SM5 which is black.
Could this be the reason? Anyone having issues with shiny chrome plated heads?
On the unrecognised shots, the unit definitely picks up something. The top LED goes red, matt laser dot dissapears, then a few seconds later the unit gives up and it is back to ready mode again.
It's like the unit is analysing the photos and there is not enough information to measure the shot.
Has anyone made the side of the iron black with a marker or paint?

Varry ,
I've used all kinds of different types of clubs with different kinds of finish [ black/ shiny etc] without any real problems with them being recognised.
As has been said numerous times on here and it's true for me that my unrecognised shots Drops significantly when connected via wifi , when connected via USB for someone reason have lots more misreads.
Good luck with it I know how annoying the misreads are
