  • Skytrak 2.4.2 Update

    Anyone else download and install this yet?

    Not sure what the updates are, compared to 2.4.1

    Hopefully Seth can let us know.

    Had a small heart attack after the update as when I tried to login immediately after the update, a red screen came up and said I had typed in the wrong username and password, which I know, I didn't. Tried a second and third time and same problem. Started to wonder if updating had killed my Skytrak. Not something I wanted to happen, living in Australia.

    But a complete shutdown and reboot of both the laptop and Skytrak solved the issue and I was able to log in and use Skytrak again.

    As far as missed shots are concerned, it still misses the odd shot, but not many. Though, the software was "non-responsive" after a few hits - waited about 10min - but still locked up. So had to do another shutdown and restart of the Skytrak and laptop, but after that - no issues at all.

    I just updated to 2.4.1 on my iPad Sunday morning, and I had issues logging in as well. I shut down the iPad to restart the app and it worked after that.

      This sometimes happens to me too after a update, so I'm always a bit apprehensive about trying to log back in. This time my credentials were recognized, but I also did afterwards once experience a lock-up after a shot, where the laser didn't come back on. Closing and re-opening the app re-set it, and it has not happened again yet.

      Like the OP, I'd like to know what each update purports to address.

        I cant use the Skytrak app, or TGC at the moment.

        Before I updated to Skytrak 2.4.2, I attempted to load TGC. The interface app showed "Skytrak License Invalid". The skytrak app itself showed that I need to upgrade my license to even use the Practice Range.

        I downloaded 2.4.2, hoping it would fix these issues, but it didnt help.

        Skytrak Seth, can you help??

          I'm having the exact same problem. Worked fine this morning. I suspect that means its on their end.

            That is super annoying, I know I'm not touching that update until this all gets worked out now. You updated it too Rayce?

              My error started when I was still on 2.4.1. I only updated to 2.4.2 hoping it would fix the issue.

              On the phone with Skytrak tech support now...

            Updated to 2.4.2 two days ago and mine is offline as well. Tried calling them, but no dial tone and it seemingly connects the call, but no sound on the other end. They may be having connectivity problems so when the SkyTrak checks the license, it gets a time out error. Hoping this gets fixed soon.

              I just finished up a call with Skytrak support. The guy I spoke with made it sound like Seth and team were aware of an issue and are working on it. Support didnt have any kind of ETA, but said they will call me back when a solution is found.

              It does sound like this may not be related to 2.4.2 (sorry for hijacking the thread!), but just some kind of back-end issue on skytraks side.

                I do wish for a return to sanity someday, where we are not locked out of our purchased software by overbearing schemes to prevent piracy. Maybe that should be a feature request for 2.4.3 :-)

                  Hey guys, super sorry for the issue. I was debating even putting a release post on here because it was so small (crazy how something so small can blow up). This release only re-enabled the firmware update for anyone who missed it with v2.4.

                  I just caught wind of the issue and we were able to trace it back to a poorly timed (and unrelated to the app) change on the back end...super quick fix and it's working now.

                  Very sorry for the trouble.

                          Hello.. Working on my end. I hit 100 wedge shots ranging for 30-130 yards.... yesterday outside. I found it to be very accurate.I shot laser at a tree & set up the Skytrak to that target line. Very cool..

                          Seems to be all good at the moment. Though, I was using the game improvement package this afternoon and it stalled twice on me. Once after a shot. Where I had to wait about 2 minutes before the laser dot would come back on and the screen was reset to hit another shot. Then it froze again when I finished the game. Again, about 2minutes later, it came good and the program started working again.
