Skytrak Outdoors

I have been using SkyTrak outdoors quite a bit lately. It has helped me quite a bit to see the full flight & then review the numbers. One tidbit for me that I have taken away & put into use on course... For shots of 50-60 yards my 52* wedge is launching (off CCE) @ 29-32* and spins more than 56*/60* wedges launched @ same angle. Left to Right is tighter as well. On course I would imagine it is launching slightly lower with slightly more spin.

I am thinking of taking my mat & Skytrak out on the course and hitting shots into a real green.... just to see how the balls react.

Do you do anything to shade the skytrak or ball outdoors? I normally use mine indoors but took it to the range a couple days ago in the evening and it worked perfectly. The next time I took it out, the sun was out and high in the sky and it was basically no reads and inaccurate reads. So it went from 100 % accurate to about 25%???

1) If there is sun, better it is shining from behind the SkyTrak as opposed to shining into lens (or front of) SkyTrak.
2) If sun is shining from behind SkyTrak and still low percentage reads, then I put my golf umbrella over the SkyTrak to block the sun and shade the area where the ball is placed (without getting into my swing path) then my percentage of good reads goes up.

I never used the skytrak under direct sunlight. Kinda worry that it may damage the unit. For spin rate, probably you hit harder/cleaner with the 52 than the 60?
