Need tips on Skytrak Setup

Been using a skytrak now since the new year, have always been confused by distances but figured that "SKYTRAK" was always right; and that seems to be the consensus on this board. So here's my issue; I raised the skytrak a bit and it is now reading driver ball speed about 10mph faster than it did earlier today. At this higher setup though it doesn't read putts very well; mostly just doesn't read at all. But with irons and woods it reads most of the time and is reading significantly higher ball speed. I can understand that with the ball on the tee with the driver that the ball passes higher in front of the camera; but explain to me why fiddling with the height (the unit is level per the bubble level indicator) I can add 10mph ball speed with the driver. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance

Is it level with the hitting map? Only time I've ever heard it needing to be higher was if you tee the ball extremely high.

well, would need to see the code and details on how the skytrak measures, but you are messing with the distance the camera read the ball data. They have a red dot on purpose and that dot assumes level with hitting surface for accuate data reads. You are changing that

I'll be more specific. From it's "level with the turf" position, I raise it 1". I also tee the ball up 1". The red laser dot is then at the base of the ball? How is this messing with the distance the camera read the ball data?

The way I understand it, the laser should be at the base of the tee, not the ball

Right, I have read that too. But you are also supposed to be able to place the ball on the turf on the dot and hit it, correct? In that case, the ball is sitting on the dot.

I tried this and could not produce the same result. Anyone else been able to replicate this?
