Distance from the Skytrak to the ball?

I'd like to put together a stance mat that would fit a CCE hitting strip and the Skytrak as well. I just wanted to be certain of the dimensions needed.

How far from the ball/laser dot is the front edge of the unit?

Too close for comfort and that's for sure sure.
About 12 inches I think

often after hitting the ball is very close to the SkyTrak, but then i'm a terrible golfer.
