I have owned both and have loved both. I currently own only a Skytrak however because I flipped my GC2 two months after buying it used for a nice profit. Is it a great unit? Yes. Do I regret selling it and getting the cheaper Skytrak? Not at all. I still have numbers saved that are nearly identical to each other from my time with the GC2 vs Skytrak.

When are people going to get that the skytrak is far a certain market, i.e people who haven't got the dosh to buy gc2 like myself . It's great to compare numbers, just to let you know you have serious kit, but all comparison ends there, even people banging on about the delay but even gc2 has a slight delay, so unless u get the illusion of it going into the screen I think it's a mute point. But even if I had the money I wouldn't get gc2 because I'm a very below average golfer, skytrak fulfill alll my needs.

Seems to me the Skytrac has a difficult time measuring spin. Ball speed and launch angle are the easy parameters to measure. In order to get better spin measurements you might try putting a line on the balls or using balls with an alignment mark already on the ball such as a Prov1 and placing the ball with the line facing the cameras.

The essential difference between a Skyrac and a GC2 is the Skytrac takes two pictures while the GC2 takes between 7 and 12 depending on the ball speed. The other significant difference is a GC2 allows a much larger area to place the ball when hitting. All that of course comes at increased purchase cost. For the money a Skytrac is decent as is a Honda Civic compared to a Z06 Corvette.

By the looks of those driver spin readings from the gc2 someone slipped a 3 cylinder engine without oil under the hood of your z06 just saying. Maybe it needs a new flash module??

Maybe set both of them up and then put a book or something in front of one of them at a time and alternate after every 2 or 3 swings. Obviously they won't be measuring the same shot, but maybe you can look at the averages of the shots to compare them. Swing should be relatively the same when averaged out over a number of shots.

I took 10 driver swings with just the gc2 and averaged 1753 spin, so it seems like an interference issue.

Yeah, these units are very tricky/nearly impossible to test simultaneously due to the similar technology. Regardless of which side they are on, you're going to be dealing with light bleed-over resulting in over-exposure on one or both systems. That's probably the reason for the no-spin reads.

I'll give it a shot! I averaged a backspin rate of 2283 on skytrak across 100 shots. We'll see what I get on GC2 on its own.

I've owned both. Key difference is the size of the ball read box. GC2 is on another level there.

If flashing is indeed interfering then being on the same side doesn't solve the interference problem. Depending how the units handle backlighting it may actually be worse.

The low driver numbers might be a good test. They are unusual but not impossible. Who knows which one is correct or if either are. I'd be tempted to do the driver again. Once again together to confirm the numbers then hit separately and see what happens. If the low numbers disappear then probably interference. Otherwise probably correct and would be interesting to see if the skytrak numbers change.

Looks like the gc2 was having difficulty reading spin. Showing 1000 rpms and under on driver shots? 1499 was highest and 706 lowest? Not sure that is even possible.

Yea I agree, those number are a little weird looking from a driver, the skytraks number looks pretty normal. Wonder why that happened
