SkyTrak v2.5.3 Official Release

Morning all,

We've just launched v2.5.3 for both iOS and PC. The two major items here are mapping of all the greens in the app to their own softness and we've also resolved all crash issues with iOS 10. Hope you enjoy!!

- All greens in the app are now mapped to a “Green” ground condition independent from the user-set “Range” ground condition
- Resolved two iOS-specific crash bugs
- Fixed shot tracer bug resulting in “spiraled” trajectories
- Improved detection and installation of Microsoft Visual C++ installation on newer Windows machines
- Added progress indicator during session Export compilation
- Fixed Challenge Leaderboard display issues
- Revised header images during Challenge setup
- Improved session export PDF for Practice sessions
- Locked column headers in Shot History Table
- Added “set distance” to Target and CTP Leaderboards
- Made units of measurement (in profile) completely global
- Fixed Spin Axis direction arrow
- Numerous behind-the-scenes bug fixes and enhancements

Awesome. Thanks Seth. The green specific ground condition will make practicing even more productive. The app has come a long way since launch and is a great tool now. I still would love to see the ability to aim right or left for those of us who like to play a draw or fade but feel uncomfortable aiming our club face more toward the unit itself. Again, awesome job. I find myself using the range app exclusively now instead of using a TGC driving range when I want to practice due to how good it is now.

Random question for this thread... when I try to 'export' my data from a session, where does it go? I click it, it flips through the different pre-set distances (when I'm doing a 'game improvement' session) and then nothing. I was thinking maybe it would email me a pdf or excel file, but that's not it... where does the export go?

Are you on iOS? It sounds like you may not have Adobe Acrobat installed. On iOS, it should open up an email ready to send with the PDF attached. On PC, it opens up the export folder with the current export highlighted.

iOS - iPad... Yeah, I'm not getting any email to pop up. You have me thinking it might be because I do not have the stock Mail app set up because I prefer to use the Google Inbox app for email. I will try that later tonight. Thanks for the quick reply!

First time launching the new app and I got the critical battery warning again...so it wouldn't connect. I restarted the app and it finally launched showing less than full battery. I had just taken my skytrak off the charger.

We are investigating why users are getting a false battery reading sometimes upon connection. This app is no different than any before it in that regard. For some reason, at times we are unable to read the information from the device, including the battery level. Whatever the fix is will be included in a follow-up release.

I find you get a battery warning when your Skytrak is taking a long time to link over your network. Just hit ok and give it time it will link up.

Thanks. Will give it a try, although it doesn't take long to close the app and reopen it. Just a pain...and it's never been an issue until recent updates. So something must have changed.

Just install the latest version - no need to uninstall the old one. You will have to log back in to your SkyGolf account afterward, when prompted.

I am also having the battery critically low messages on occasion. I think this may be associated with the mini usb connector loosing contact. Sometime even a slight movement of the unit can cause loss of connection. I find I have to move the mini connector around a bit and then often restart the unit or software or sometime even reboot the computer to get it to work again.

That could be part of it, but it happens with Wi-Fi as well.

Still no joy on the iPad Pro. App keeps losing wifi connectivity before you can hit a ball. Broken since 2.5.1 was released in September. Renders the whole system unusable.

That is bizarre. I have no other reports of that issue....I'm curious if it could be a problem with the hardware Wi-Fi module.

I use my iPhone SE instead of the IPad and have no problems, so I don't think the SkyTrak unit is dodgy. With the screen in the phone being so small I can't use most if the features on SkyTrak. Since the upgrade from 2.4.2, the battery indicator problem and the flakey connection problems have begun on the iPad Pro and seem to be common. If it is only me then I'll return the unit. I just wonder how many are working around it like I am with my iPhone.

I was having the same problem with my iPad just renew the network in your iPad settings should fix it
