SkyTrak_Seth Any hints or teases as to any new software updates we can expect this year or any new integrations (i.e. skypro)?

Forum: What would you like to see this year to improve Skytrak? I know the GCQ is coming out this year and have been seeing everything that has been going on with Foresight (new fees etc) but haven't seen anything from skytrak

Just so you guys know, I'm going to wait until next week when we release v2.5.4 to send out Android to those who requested. The reason being that it already has the new firmware and I don't want to mix firmware and software versions out there in the field. Next week, everyone will be on the same so it won't be an issue.

Please add me to the list of Android testers. I've got a Nexus 6P, which should be capable of running the software. Thanks in advance!

SkyTrak_Seth Can you share the release notes of v2.5.4 ?

Sure. v2.5.4 is not super-exciting for existing users, but paves the way for some cool new things to come soon.

        - Completely revised Device Connection flow. SkyTrak unit is now able to scan for available networks in order to simplify network mode connection process.
        - Includes firmware update to 1.55 – enables unit network scan and eliminates possible laser drop during alignment mode.
        - Significantly increased speed of data sync.
        - Improved reading of license files and battery percentage.
        - Small bug fixes related to units of measurement.
        - Miscellaneous bug fixes and behind-the-scenes work.

I'd also really be interested in the android version of the software if at all possible, I'm currently using a Galaxy S6 Active.

          Thanks!

You know what...I'll just start a new thread next week with an open link. That way I can manage everyone in that thread instead of dealing individually...I already can't keep up

So it's the Wednesday after the PGA Merch Show. Can we find out all the cool stuff you said you'd tell us after the show? When will 2.5.4 be available for download? Don't mean to sound impatient, but I am!

Think there were hints about a potential Skypro integration with Skytrak to get more accurate swing speed.

I hope it's more then a skypro integration, that would be a letdown imho.

Currently, SkyPro doesn't report face angle at impact because they're running up against the limits of their sensors' sampling rate - the club face just closes too quickly near the ball. If they're able to share numbers with SkyTrak, they'll have the ball direction, ball spin, and club path (from SkyPro) and may then be able to calculate the face angle. Face angle at impact would be a pretty cool addition!

I wonder if @protee is planing on integrating the R-Motion thing along with the SkyTrak in TGC instead of the skypro??

What would be really awesome would be ProTee buys out SkyGolf's rights to distribute SkyTrak, offer and sell SkyTrak via ProTee w it's amazing customer service that everyone loves and integrate R-Motion w SkyTrak on TGC for an awesome low price alternative to GC2+HMT...

                        ProTee's product range would be:
                        - ProTee fixed LM setup
                        - SkyTrak portable LM
                        - R-Motion swing analyzer
                        - and all integrated and works seamlessly w their TGC sim and upcoming TGC 2
along w its great customer service.

This would be a company I would invest in =)

                      Interesting concept doublebogey

First, it's sounds like the R-Motion will already be integrated with the TGC someday - indeed, a poor man's HMT system.

I emailed R-Motion and asked where I could buy one, and they said I could leave my name and they would let me know shortly. So, not quite sure who is going to be distributing it around north America.

Rapsodo is seemingly doing the baseball stuff direct sale - $3,000 on the website, but there's no shopping cart, you enter the data and they will get in touch.....

r-motion is really more of a consumer product price point, that needs a broad channel of distribution. Either partner with someone, or make a big investment to develop one.

Poor man's HMT...or could be direct match to an ES16!

Rmotion is strange product to me. There's a dozen club based accelerometer swing trainers around. People buy them. Adding in sim play with TGC would have been a killer advantage.

As a salesman you'd say to the swing trainer customer: "You get a swing trainer but for only about $150 extra you can get full simulation too!"

And to the Optishot sim customer you'd say, "For the same price you get modern sim TGC software plus a full swing trainer too!"

But instead they deleted the swing trainer part, cut their market way down and created a much harder sell.

Rapsodo themselves seem to know how to make stuff but marketing and sales doesn't seem to be their strength. Hopefully it all works out.
