SkyTrak_Seth Any hints or teases as to any new software updates we can expect this year or any new integrations (i.e. skypro)?

Forum: What would you like to see this year to improve Skytrak? I know the GCQ is coming out this year and have been seeing everything that has been going on with Foresight (new fees etc) but haven't seen anything from skytrak

I'm less interested in additional features and would prefer refinement of the existing product attributes, e.g., fewer no-reads (I use USB, which reportedly suffers more from this phenomenon for some reason) and faster impact-to-ball-flight times.

I remain baffled by the absence of a quality factory protective case and/or the development of a basic ST unit which is inherently much more robust and able to withstand readily foreseeable ball impacts. The recent emergence of entrepreneurs here on the forum in that arena is proof positive of the demand, and of the inadequacy of the product currently offered by ST.

I went to the show Thursday and saw Seth. They have a metal case that is just about ready to be released. He was testing it that day with shanks and then couldn't lose the shanks. But the case took them all well. I bought a Skytrak at the show after seeing it live.

I think it's been said several times over the past 18months that the shot to screen delay will not be reduced much. I think you're holding onto a false hope there. I am keen on the new development of skypro integration and anything else driving this unit forward. I'd also welcome a change in payment structure to not need to pay a yearly fee. Would rather see payment on new features and not what you own. This would help drive things forward and encourage advancement.

skytrak is pretty known for a yearly fee model and with such low volume I think it is here to stay - 100 bucks a year is not bad from my perspective as long as they make improvements to the software much like they have been doing. Just my take.

We'll be releasing some new software very soon. Not super-exciting, but makes connectivity a whole lot easier along with a bunch of behind-the-scenes work. I'll be down there, so come find me and I'll fill you in on what's coming next. THAT is super-exciting

Was wondering about that as well. Never understand companies that go Apple first. Don't they realize there are more android users in the world than iphone users. Around 10% more in the US alone.

If you look at the profile of the average apple user you will understand why companies go apple first. Seth makes one good point but the other is the average apple user is high income and a high spender - enjoys on edge stuff.

We've had Android available for a long time, actually. The reason I think companies go Apple first is simplicity - you have one device. With Android, there are so many devices and manufacturers that it's hard to come up with a solid (and respectable) list of what works and what doesn't . Add to that, Android is far behind on processing power compared to Apple. We've seen that the newer octacore processors are finally up to the speed of the original iPad Air and even Air 2, which I believe to be acceptable. If you, or anyone here, wants to test-drive on Android and have an octacore processor (mine was the first - Samsung Galaxy Tab S2), just send me a message.

Where do I find the android version? I'm on Google play store right now and I can't find it...I see the Skypro app... I'm on a tablet if that makes any difference...

It's not in the Play store. Seth (SkyTrak) will have to send it to you.

No, he will send you a download link. I tried it, it worked ok. Not great but enough to take it to the range. At home I only use the Laptop.

I want it to keep from having to buy a 200 Tablet for range and golf course use.

I would really like a 10 Pack of Courses from WGT or any of the others or even 1 Course for $99.99 one time fee so I can play something without committing $900.00 for a 10,000 course pkg. I may not like. Or a one time Green Fee Login and play a particular course for 24 hrs.

It's over 100,000 and growing. I have bought TGC day one of skytrak Integration and I can tell you there is a lot of great courses on there. From fictional paar 3 courses to great recreations. You can Play the tour, which is a lot more fun then I thought it would be. Just saying. You would pay the same after 9 courses with your plan, have no tour, tournamants, Rankings, online Group Play and be stuck with your 9 courses.

So I've read some people using their iPhone at the range. This will work with Android phones as well?
I've an S6 edge. The S6 and S7 are more powerful than the iPhone 6,so processing power shouldn't be an issue.
Would like to avoid buying a tablet if at all possible.
                      Thanks.

Swyped while swerving on my S6 edge
