  • Recommended routers SkyTrak

SkyTrak_Seth can you tell us why
Asus RT-AC68U AC1900 is not a recommended router for
Skytrak ? I have that router and obviously can't get SkyTrak to connect my PC when it's on the network. If I know the reason , I might be able to fix the issue on the router . Posting here so it can help others down the road.

Interesting. I have that same router and can connect fine to both my iPad and laptop, though I haven't used it with my laptop in a couple of weeks.

it has been posted before this router does not work. I have the 5300 from ASUS and works fine. I am not sure why they say it does not work, but why fight it...for 200 bucks just get a new one. the 5300 kicks butt.

I didn't do any of the router testing, but I'm trying to find out for you...

Looking back at the router testing results sheets, for some reason that particular router was very slow to pass data...up to 20+ seconds at times. Not exactly sure what caused it.

I can't say anything about your particular router, but I've been using an ASUS RT-N66R (this one: http://amzn.to/2lCG8Wd) for the past year or two and it has always worked fantastic for me. I believe the RT-N66U and RT-N66R are the exact same routers, I just bought mine from Bestbuy and they carried the "R" model, I think it is a marketing thing.

Does anyone have any experience with the ASUS AC1750 (AC66U)? I need a new router and am not very happy with the netgear brand. My last two netgears have had drop issues.

              Thanks for the help!

                Just an update

I purchased the Linksys AC1900 (E7500). So far it is doing the job. My simulator is set up in a detached garage and I haven't had a drop or disconnect since hooking up the new router.

No i couldn't. Ended up returning my SkyTrak and bought a gc2. The wifi on my SkyTrak was defective

The unit was too buggy.. kept dropping wifi and it would hang for 30 seconds randomly and do nothing .. I wanted to like it but I am very happy with a gc2. More expensive but it holds it value so I am sure I will recoup 80% of the cost ..
