Now it makes you wonder will anyone use this technology to track a ball when you’re actually playing outside …
especially those of us who don’t always hit the fairway and lose balls seems like a great idea

What they should is chip the balls and make an app or a device that helps you locate lost balls so that you would never lose a ball again. The manufacturers would never do this because they would lose money on everyone always finding their ball.

Won't matter. Look what happens on tour. They use both shot link and Trackman, and lets not forget spotters, and they still lose balls.

Even if they did, think about the cost and inconvenience... Every shot, you would have to set up your Trackman. Nah...

According to Flightscope, these have been tested with their units and work favorably, but they're still doing more testing. Might work with Mevo or Mevo+, although still would need setup each hole.

I just went to "Balls" then on the first ProV1 ad I selected "Shop." They are listed as ProV1 RCT and ProV1x RCT but you have to scroll down a bit. Both have a "New" flag next to them.

Dax - interesting... a few comments. 1.) is that the normal amount of time/delay between hitting the ball and the Trackman range displaying ball flight? 2.) Modern Golf mentioned 'short distances' but never really tells us how close they are to the screen?

                  Thanks,
                  -Brett

For that range, that is approx the amount of time to display the shot. In virtual golf and the virtual range, there is no delay. The ball adjusts during flight to correct end point in virtual golf.

Someone posted the other day on TMs newest min requirements for ball to screen distances depending on ball speed and if you are using the new ball. With the new ball, I believe they say 9.3 feet is needed for someone with a ball speed of 180 mph with about 8.2 or 8.3 feet for slower swing speeds. With the metal dot, 12.1 feet was needed and so I suspect that modern golf that you see in the video is at approx 12 feet as I am sure they get all different swing speeds.

I'm at about 105mph swing speed, so I think that would put me at a requirement of 8' 3" or so, that's great.

I'm just getting everything adjusted in flooring and screen hanging to where I can get 8'10" maximum - if I can get away with 6" from screen to back wall, which I think I can as I'm hanging a heavy screen (801), with a heavy moving blanket (weighs about 20lbs) behind it.
                Working...
