  • E6 Software

I have E6, TGC & FSX. Just wanted to give a shout out to Trugolf and E6 for making what I believe to be the best looking and most user friendly courses! I know a lot of people love TGC and so do I, but nothing compares to E6 for all around performance! Customer service is also terrific with Trugolf and I look forward to buying my last course pack at the end of the month. If you want real courses, great graphics, tee boxes to select from, easy navigation, then E6 is a no brainer.
I look forward to the day when I can use a Quad with E6 software.....hope it happens!!!!

Totally agree. I bought e6 a few weeks ago and haven't been back to tgc. I'm sure I will some day to play on the tour again but just enjoying e6 too much. When you play a course it is much more like the real deal, not just a select palette of objects. There are some great designers on tgc but I know what I'm getting and the mutual courses I've played on each that I've played irl is much more like being there. The interface is awesome. practice "facilities" are miles above.

Interesting, I thought I was the only one who felt it was more "real". visually it feels like you are playing a golf course. I find the greens to be crazy slow. Have you found a way to increase the speed? I've only used the demo and will have the full version at the end of the week. With the 2 for 1 on course packs now I'll probably pick up two of them. Thinking of 3 & 4.

Green speed is an option in the settings. It may not be available in the Demo. Personally I found the default to be perfect. I also got 3 and 4 course packs. I also got Pebble package and course pack 1. It s cool they had Superstition mountain and King and Bear since I have played those and they are kind of obscure. I was very pleased with how they played and looked vs reality.

I would add that JNPG is not an option for me since I have ProTee or I may have considered that given the price. Not going to lie, E6 is pricey but I just bit my lip and justified it to myself for what I saved with the less expensive hardware which I couldnt be more happy with.

The initial core package is pricey at $1620 on sale, but Trugolf does run these sales often enough for someone to save and get course packs that are quite a deal when compared to say FSX. Right now you can get 24 courses for $400, which comes out $16.66 a course. Compare that to FSX, which has courses at about $120 - $150 per course. Look at them side by side and there is no comparison. E6 wins hands down and it was developed by people who know software! The cloud releases of Yellowstone, Kuala Lumpur, Sanctuary, and Pine Canyon are all incredible real golf courses!! Foresight makes incredible Launch monitors, but the software still needs some work.

How do I make the E6 demo connect to my GC2? I'm using the Protee interface , and GSX .... basically the setup used for interfacing TGC , however I can't get E6 to recognize shots

In the Protee Interface, I think you hit Alt E to bring up the screen where you have to change E6=False to E6=True. Make sure to also slide the Golf Club slider to off as well. That is what worked for me.

I am also trying the demo and like it so far. I have skytrak. Does anyone know if I can get the 2 for 1 course pak deal as a skytrak user.

I believe thru the end of May, it is Buy one Course Pack, get one free. I believe Skytrak allows E6 to be used and I think the offer applies to all sim users. I definitely like the idea of actually owning courses that I buy. That is one thing that kept me away from JNPG. TGC is awesome, but I like the idea of owning the courses.
You definitely need the base package to get any of the additional courses. That is the steep initial price, but it comes with tons of options.

If you buy the courses on JNPG, you do own them. You still could use them in the steam game if you didn't have the sim version. You don't give them back after you pay for them. And 99% of them are free anyway. $400 for a 12 pack of courses is ridiculous. They should make this deal last forever. Can't believe people would pay that much for 12 courses.

I've heard nothing but good things about JNPG. But for my situation, the only offer is a yearly subscription of $250.00 I think, plus the small initial steam purchase. I would have to pay that every year and I imagine if I don't pay up each year, I don't have access to the software anymore. So from my point of view, it is more like renting, but maybe I don't understand JNPG business model fully, which very well could be true.
With the sale, it is $400 for 24 courses, not 12. I know this is still a ripoff in your opinion, but compare it to some other softwares out there and it isn't all that bad. I guess I just dig the software with the ease of use and cool courses. Again, have played a lot of different softwares, but not JNPG.

I think the price of the E6 courses is quite reasonable especially if you wait for a sale. Look at Foresight, now that is ridiculous.

JNPG is a PC game that you buy for like 26 bucks or something like that. Most of the courses are community generated at free. You can buy some additional course, made by PG, for 4-7 bucks. You own them. You own them for the PC Game that is. To use with a simulator you hsve to pay a $250/yr fee. I don't quite get it myself which is why I haven't paid it. I'm still waiting for some of the upcoming updates like better lighting and 3D grass. I played it during the beta period which was free and I hear it is much better than it was. I may spring for a year next fall but we'll see. I'm starting to think I have too many courses/programs if that is possible. I'll be adding E6 on Friday....

I think you will like E6! You'll have to tell me how JNPG compares to E6. I guess the only complaint I have about E6 would be the lack of 3D grass. You can never own enough courses when it comes to simulators!!!

I bought PG, but prefer TGC myself. I might be persuaded to sell the membership at a discount.

Not sure you can transfer the PG membership. I'm getting a GC2 today and the PG guys told me I had to buy it again and just sell my skytrak with whatever is left on the year I paid for.

Well i did contact skygolf and they i said i could transfer it. I think the reason u can't transfer in your situation is because your changing hardware from ST to GC2.
