If I order e6 for skytrak can I play it immediately or do I have to wait for a dongle?

I note that the trugolf rep here has exercised his customary discretion when answering queries on this board.

The answer is that not only do you need a dongle before you can play, you also need a DVD. I don't have a DVD drive, so that's the end of that for me.

Not true, I never used the DVD. You can download the installer from TruGolf. You will need the dongle and TruGolf will need to authorize your computer so you'll need to contact support to get going.

You can play before if you haven't already started the 30 day demo or still have some days left, but need to download the our full installer. I was recently informed that our Demo version can't be converted to a full version of the software. Meaning, if you have the demo and purchase then you'll need to uninstall it and then install the full version, it's in the link below. It'll probably take authorization from SkyTrak activating their flags, TruGolf's authorization will be complete when you insert the dongle.

I just went thru this so - this is how it worked out for me. I ordered e6 via the sktyrak web site 3 days before my demo ran out. It took about a week for the DVD and dongle to arrive. During this time the demo ran out. I was told just to install the DVD - I did. Even thought I had the DVD the game still wanted to down load more stuff - this took about 6 hours and I have a very fast connection. Anyway, the next day I was playing, but every time I would exit the game it would say it must update again. After 4 days of this I created a post here and was told to download a zip file...big zip file I did and that stopped the downloading question.

A few days later I was told by the software my subscription was ending in 3 days. This time I used the support system on e6 and I had to send them some info from the doggle and something else - for the last few weeks all is great.

if you want the cloud stuff make sure to go to e6 and make a user and request. it. We skytrak users only get some of the cloud - not the free courses. Suppose to get everything in oct when it is NOT free anymore.

Look over in the e6 forum for my post if you wish. You do NOT need a DVD drive - you can download the software. You can also get a usb dvd drive for very little cash.
