Internet required for local play?

Title says it all. I've got new internet coming in a week but in the meantime I don't think my wifi signal is strong enough in the garage. Will I be able to use e6 for local play without internet or does it require internet connection for every mode?

You’ll need the internet to log in once, and to download courses but then you can open E6 Connect 5 or 6 times without internet.
