  • E6 Connect Spin

    How do you all off-set the excessive spin on approach shots? I heard it was excessive, but damn! I don't put a ton of spin on my wedges(7500 54 degree), but this morning I hit a 90 yard 54 degree wedge on the green and it spun back off the green. I even turned up the stimp meter to 10. Should I turn it all the way up?

    Stimp at 7 or 8, greens on firm (so ball bounces further forward on the first bounce) will minimize spinback. Many times the slope of the green factors into the spinback you see, so if you approach a sloped back to front green with the stimp turned up, balls are going to get started backwards and not stop for a long time.

    Try to do your testing on a flat practice green. I don't find the spinback excessive with the above settings.

        I had to stop using Prov1 balls to fix the backspin issue. My wedges had 10k-11k rpms and would backup ~10yds. Any non-premium ball with a harder cover will reduce your backspin in real life and in E6 Connect.

          Lol good luck.. next time you're at the range, just put a pocket full of the one piece range balls in your shorts and MAYBE you can hold a green with any slope. That's what I am doing and still can't ..Check this gem out from today. 45 launch and 3900 spin and the thing spun back 40 feet. This game is broken on the greens if they have any slope whatsoever. Maybe I'll try a wiffle ball next round

              that is a PW with a 1 piece uneekor ball.... Last I checked PGA players don't use 1 piece junk balls to have to keep balls from spinning off the greens. I can post a regular PW with a 3 or 4 piece ball with 9000 spin but they are unplayable basically in e6 connect for me. no point trying to hit a number to only have it roll backwards 25 feet every single time.

              Haha gotcha. Maybe I'll start switching to a cheap ball for wedge shots and one day I'll hold the green on Ocean's 15th.

              I play that course all the time as a warmup and that pin location was just BRUTAL!! I don't ever remember having many issues on that hole before these last rounds

            Ya, its bad. I had a 27ft chip onto the green. It landed halfway and spun back so that I had 26ft to the pin. At my best, I can spin a ball back about 12” but hardly ever. It is very unrealistic on the greens.

              A chip that goes ~ 14ft will NEVER have enough spin to spin back. Even for a flopped shot, a 14ft chip will hardly ever not roll out a foot or two...

            Those both look like you landed the ball on at least a 5% upslope, which makes me think gravity is playing a large part in the roll-back/spin-back distance. You also had a super-high trajectory (161 ft!!) and super-steep descent angle, so you got no forward bounce, further contributing to the long backup.

              The spin on any slope is way too much. Unless its completely flat the ball spins back every single time which is unrealistic

            I'm a little disappointed in E6 Connect. Spin and distance are way off on E6. I have a GCQuad and I prefer playing FSX20. More realistic ball flight and the graphics on E6 are not even close to TGC19. I don't mind the graphics on FSX compared to E6 when ball flight is way better on FSX. Wish TGC19 would have come to FSX instead of E6. That's my two cents.

              I read that e6 was addressing issue somewhere in this forum but it definitely has not happen! The spin is unbelievably excessive.

                The issue to me is when the ball hits the green the spin loss is not accounted for. The ball rockets back unrealistically. You can hit a slope IRL and it will trickle down and pick up steam as it goes down the slope. Most the time it doesnt take off like a drag car

                  Also fun when you plan for the backspin, but then the ball lands on the fringe and you get no backspin whatsoever. Evidently, the fringe is like velcro and immediately eats every rpm of spin on the ball.
